Hi guys!
Adroit.jrk, I agree with xxxCubanxxx, I'd try to highlight the main subject of an image (in this case your dragon) over anything else. Try with opposite colors, light, saturation...
I'll really appreciate your opinion now mates, I'm not sure at all about this but on a dramatical turn I changed my mind, and this happened:

The dragon needs a better render but that's what I had and just felt the need to watch it all together.

Wil change the clouds to 3D. They don't compliment the rest of the scene in 2D.

I agree with astroAJ clouds don't fit the rest of the comp right now, also don't go too crazy with the depth of field ;)

Ive got 2 days to either:
- use a nice cloud brush in the compo, fix the model lighting, add more detail to the planet.
Or:
- focus on the dragon and create a nice gradient background.
Also note that the wings remain unposed, they look better now, but it's taking a lot of time to do them right and I want the rest of the body in place so I dont have to do that Job twice.
Thanks for the feedback guys.

Update, added in environment and posed the dragon.
Decided not to use zbrush mainly because I don't have the time lol :hmm:

Amazing guys. I really like how your entries in this contest come out.
After a little abstinence I'd like to present my progress as well.
FYI, I'll go over the eyelashes and the brows shortly.

Please accept my apologies for this but at the beginning of this thread it mentioned that the top 3 winners would be featured in the 3D Creative magazine, i'm sorry but for the time being this is no longer correct, it is my fault as I copied the text directly from the old stylized challenges and did not read through the brief properly afterwards.
You will still gain exposure on threedy though, things may change in the future but for now it's threedy only no magazine exposure.
Again please accept my apology for this I did not mean to mislead you, it is no fault of threedy or 3DTotal HQ as they were oblivious to this until recently and not surprisingly would have had a shock come voting time and no doubt disappointment all round would have occurred.

Hi ClassicGamer-3DT,
I can't paste it so it might only be my bad memory but it said top ten would be featured and top 3 would have to write some kind of overview of the main steps etc etc.
In this update you say only threedy, so no top 10 and no top 3 right?
It's been great to take part on the challenge but the exposure thing was a great motivation... although it's a pitty, it was a mistake, I think it forced us to do a great effort and the results and knowledge should be rewarding enough.
Ahhh having a model of mine in 3DCreative would have been so nice ^^ for me, that don't make any profit of this hobby, almost like a dream hehe
Kogen, great work!
I can't wait to finish my entry and see all your works finished aswell. Sweet models here ;)

You can still produce making of's if you wish, and you will be featured on the site (as far as I know) it's just nobody will be featured in the magazine. Your work will still get seen here. I know it's not the same kind of exposure but it's my own silly fault for not proof reading the text.
I really am sorry for getting people's hopes up and misleading them.... but it was a genuine mistake :(
John.

Hey,
I make genuine mistakes every day ;)
I'll share what I've learnt about BPR, SSS and some polypainting and sculpting techniques in form of making off wich is a good exposure and greatly rewarded.
Thanks!

great work guys .
kogen - awesome :) . your dragon girl is my favourite one :) . but somehow she lost her childish purity in her face due to textures or angle. now she looks more like a boy .
CG - personaly i dont even care about any exposure in all forms - this is just for fun and exercise. i am having fun and a great time with all of guys here and thats what i care about and i think most of us here think the same. so your apology is acsepted and i personaly understand you afterall we all are humans (exept for chuck norris) and we all do mistakes(again - exept chuck norris).
:) . so i think a little one day extention till monday evening to compensate all the terror and shock we had with this issu would be fair :D .

Kogen, Awesome entry mate, I'd just fix the face to clearly say if there's good or evil inside that costume ^^

ClassicGamer-3DT: While it would have been a totally cool prize, I can honestly say that the amount I've learned completing this challenge is worth way more to me than any magazine feature could have been.
I have a tendency to abandon projects, and this time I saw my dragon through to the end and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out (although I wish I could've worked for a few more days on it).
So, no worries--we're just glad you guys host these things!!!

Thank you guys for your feedback. I hope I was able to turn her into a more "friendly" girly right now.
I really like how that competition is coming to an end and how everyone gave their best, no matter if with or without any mentioning in the 3DT magazine.

After a couple of crashes during rendering.:wall: This is my final image. I didn't got time for normal map on the orange.
Well there is a messy problem here. I posted my entry twice & I keep receiving the administrator's mandatory permission. It says:"Thank you for posting! Your post will not be visible until a moderator has approved it for posting". Can someone tell me how much it takes for my post to be approved???????????????
Also why can I just post text but can't post any images????!!!!
Please I need an answer before the deadline. ANYONE??? :(

Hmm, Happened to me also that my entry was not visible, when i was posting through advanced posting. If you are posting also advanced, try just quick one, it helped me:)
ClassicGamer-3DT: That's so weird. Can't find it at all. I also posted the final image in the VOTING thread but can't see it either. Maybe if u could quote it then I might see it. Just a guess?!!
pavolsvk: Tried that....didn't work too. Trying the advanced mode now actually with a low res image. Don't know if it'll work.
This is getting annoying for me. :wall:
Finally it worked....Thanx guys. I'll re-post the images again soon. I apologize for the viewers for so much reposting (If u could actually see my previous posts:lame:).

Due to a combination of hosting guests, doing other work and parties I haven't managed to play around with doing a proper render so I'm submitting this old render as my final image. I would try and do something quickly now but I have a hangover. Oh well it was a useful exercise all in all anyway. Anyway good work guys they are looking really good.
Just got home from work. Time for my last post here before the deadline.
P.S.: Sorry again for multiple posting. This was due to images uploading problems (I guess :hmm:) . Your C & Cs mean so much to me. Hope u like it.
And finally...the environemnt elements......and the final comp image
