Quoting a professional concept artists here : ‎"The advanced artist paints an apple on a table and makes it fascinating.

The beginner paints an army of space marines fighting off an alien invasion during a comet strike on a planet with two suns and makes it boring."

My point being:

Start out small. Make studies. Take a bowl of fruit and paint it.
Then, paint t again. Think about what you're doing and what you should be doing while you're doing it.

Then move to the big stuff.

Also, -- this video-- (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPz8Xyt3z-w) is really awesome and -- this channel -- (http://www.youtube.com/user/FZDSCHOOL) is really really awesome.

I would also suggest you going to conceptart.org and starting out a sketchbook there (and update it regularly). There'd you'd be amongst professional concept artists and if you put your back into it, could get to the professional level in a year or two.

But, it takes work dude.

TekNeek - Thanks a lot for taking the time. I appreciate your thoughts and advice, just what I need and want to have- constructive critique. So I looked up the video and the channel and it was 'really really awesome! Couldn't take my eyes off the speedpaints, and there's so many of them :) And, yes it takes work to be a professional. Many hours a day he said in the tutorial to be a good concept artist.
I also joined conceptart.org today and that will be an adventure, thanks for telling me and believing in me! Hope to keep in touch with you in the future.
Best regards

No prob dude, just keep at it.

Also, since it can be a bit intimidating going there and seeing everybodys work, I suggest you shold check out --this thread-- (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?p=3275808) over there.

Show how everybody starts off at the beginning.
