Hehehe, don't dive too deep into it though, it's just a bad pun.
But: Here's a concept sketch of my monster.
I'm calling it Heubert.

interesting concept. now its time to sculpt it cause i starting to feel a little loneley here :)
P.S. i bet you could open a beer bottle with its squid tale/nose

Oh, how does this work btw?
Do we have to sculpt it in a certain timeframe, or do we just have the deadline ?
EDIT- And here's a rough preliminary. About an hour. Still helluvalot messy but hey, sue me.
Tomorrow, I'll make some legs and the mouth tentacle things, but now: sleep!

Looks like I+m gonna have to retopo+bake or find a way to make a decent render out of ZBrush but:
IT'S GOOT LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEGS!!!
contemplating whether it's too many, it's kind of in the whole flurry of mess area.

Naah leave it, t'hat makes it cool and creepy, like at first ur weirded out because your still trying to figure out "what the F is going on down there" when it takes a bite out of you...taps into that thing that makes spiders creepy to some, just..more!
08-02-2012, 02:17 PM
Creepy indeed you could do away with some of the legs, but keep the overall volume for the cluster, keep it up.
08-02-2012, 10:04 PM
I'll see what I do.
But for now, a small update. Started fleshing out the face.

Like the legs, it makes it creepy (+1), clean a bit and integrate those (try find a balance in but with a lot of those). KIU

Nice!! Pretty creepy! I loved the legs and how the face is going, but I'm not sure about the "behind", it looks unsolved.

An hour here, an hour there.
Slow and steady wins the race.
Waska : yes! It is a bit of a flurry of noise. I'm also wondering if this is the shape I want to go on.. I shall contemplate on this!
CelT0 : yes, I agree.
I'll probably do some sketches over the weekend.

man that thing is ugly nice job so far
11-02-2012, 06:57 PM
I worked on the body a bit more, and am calling it 90% done for now. A little bit of cleanup is needed I guess, but I'm pretty much OK with it. Changed the temporal area a bit. The idea is that these are sacks filled with the beasts organs (I'm thinking the lungs). Lessened the leg count, without damaging it's freakiness, oh, and now i's got some sorts of manbiles, instead of that fugly cheekbone teeth thing.
Next stop -> the tentacles and the second set of eyes.
I will texture it eventually, but dunno if I have the time for it before the deadline.

Nice Tekneek. First I thought that those paws messed up the readability of your model but it turned out really creepy.
On a side note.
I think you must be glad leaving her before she got so much wrinkels and when you turn her around you see all those attachements ready to kill your Johnson. ;)

I made the second eye set. It's different from what I'd originally planned, and thus, am not sure whther I like it or not.
And as for the tentacles in the mouth, I'm wondering if it's a bit of an overkill.
I dunno, tired, off to sleep
16-02-2012, 10:58 PM
.. And I've disvocered that my system begins to lag at around this many polygons.
17-02-2012, 02:06 PM
Very nice so far, liking all the detailing...make sure you leave some loving to that tail too :)
18-02-2012, 08:02 AM
I really love your creature. Keep up the good work.
18-02-2012, 10:37 PM
I redid the eye, and retouched the tentacles. I'm calling this done now, since I don't have the time to work on it tomorrow.
I'll make better renders for it and beauty shots though, before posting it in the finished section :)
