I'm new here. HI!

I've been learning 3D studio MAX for almost 2 years now, all on my own self taught. (If you count tutorials as self taught)

anyways,
I started this model about a year ago, about the same time Metroid Prime came out. I couldn't get it so I made this instead and I learned a lot from it. The actual model, as shown in the renders was finished in the beginning of 2003, but I went on to other things and never got any good renderings until lately. I experimented with rigging and animation but I can't get any good results, so I just rendered the mesh in its default pose.

I put Samus in the cave using to get that Metroid feel. Its hard to see for some people but my monitor is adjusted so you should just barely be able to see some detail. Sorry if it just looks pitch black to you. so I've posted a second one for you to see the details

and here we have just the mesh so you can get a better look at all the details I put in

nice modelling part, but i think the texturing could use some more work. the metal looks a little bit too shiny. maybe you should experiment with the materials to get a more realistic effekt for her.

Make her dirty. Nothing stays that clean after killing aliens, and crawling through dank environments.

I redesigned the helmet part and added some lights to the suit.

sweet, been a fan of metroid for a good decade now. My only crit, would be the pose, make her like she's sneaking in maybe, threading carefully, possibly on one knee aiming the gun at us or something. The pose is too bland.

Possibility of seeing a wire as well? for us wire junkies
