I'm new to this Forum :)
When I saw this challange suddenly I realised that I have to participate here.
There is probably the only "thing" that makes me a fan of it, and that is a game called Disciples. I have been playing it since it's first release, and now it's a perfect opportunity to create one of the many amasing Disciples characters.
So far I didn't choose one, but it's definitely gonna be from this game.

So I have chosen the Archlich from disciples 2.
Don't know if that's final but I'll stick with this character for now.
I have took I couple of references, also some other characters looked cool for me from the same game, so perhaps I could combine a few of them, and make a new one with a style of this game.

I'm a big fan of Disciples myself, there's a ton of characters to choose from really. Can't wait to see progress here!

It's good to see some fans of disciples :D
And I have some high res sculpting experience :) otherwise I wouldn't choose this kind of difficult character.

Even if the dwarf looks awesome I decided to create Archlich, I like the evil look on it, and I can imagine what I could change on it And make a little bit different. The dwarf looks perfect as it is, I don't think I could come up with something to make it even better...
Anyway next step concept art of archlich, but it will not be soon, have a lot of work now..

Was hoping for a second for Thanatos, but the Arch Lich is just as awesome. (Undead Hordes player here.. :D )

Today I have redraw a little bit of Archlich the way I wanted, not a lot just slightly.
Also I have experimented with colors, just for fun, I know that it's early to decide which color should it have, but just wanted to know your opinion about variations.
In the game this character had the main color green, so I made him with that, at first, but then tried to change them, didn't really do a well job...
So I'm asking for a help to make it easier for me to decide :D
I will also add some minor object so it wouldn't look so simetrical, like a book of death, and some chains. I will not draw them, because it's pretty clear in my mind how it's gonna look.
Anyway here's the retouched concept.

i like "C" and "H" best. it has the best impact to viewwers eye :) .

Ok, have some update. In the begining for me it's easier to model with 3ds max rather that sculpt. Perhapts I should't have modeled all the body since most of the parts will not be visible, but I still made it like that.

as long as you retopo when your done...dont think it will like the triangles on the bendy part of the knee, shape looks solid to dress up.

Personally, I like G, or the red one best. But yeah G is my favorite of that bunch. Perhaps brown instead of green gloves though.

I have blocked out the model, and now it is time to sculpt.
Perhaps proportions could be a little better, maybe will fix it don't really know..

are you going to do halve textures etc. and than mirror over x? (save some space)....looks like you got all the parts, have fun sculpting

sculpted high poly skull, still needs some correction, but overall almost complete, moving to the next part, will try to work faster, otherwise not going to complete it.
but you should break up the symmetry

ok so I'm finished with high poly, just forgot to make a weapon...
but already stardet to make low poly model
so far it's at 7200 tris, I will not reach 20k for sure, but it's gonna be at 12k I think

i think with such thin waist and with that evil, skull face his hands and feet could look more boney, more defined joints and "spikey" fingernails or someyhing.

thanks :) yeah I noticed that also, and there are some mistakes on the legs, hair and face, so I think I will redo low poly model adding some tris, because now it's 9k tris.

I will put it with out DOF later :) right now changed UW map so that there would be place for a weapon, I already made high poly and low poly, started texturing.

Nice work! I like the new color scheme, make sure to toss a red light in there to keep the consitency in the final render (or toss it in the diffuse)

thanks for your comments :) I agree that this is a better color variation.
some new update, all I did right now was placing some metal and fabric textures on a specular map.
