Fan Art - Darkmonk - DemonBoss (Joe Mad concept)

Hi guys,

Cool, this is a great topic but it was hard for me to choose something as i had a ton of different things I wanted to try and make lol

But ive decided on a concept from a great artist called Joe Madureira best known for his comic Battle chasers and also his work for marvel comics.

This concept was for a game called Darksiders but as far as i can find out it never made it into the game and I cant find any images of the model so I dont think it got past the concpet stage so I will create my sculpt based on the concept and fill in any blank areas myself :)
This should give me a good chance to play more with Dynamesh and some of the newer features of Zbrush, im going to try and do everything 100% in Zbrush for practice :)

The image is from IGN so hopefully its ok to post it here to show what im going to create.

ARGH, unbelievable :( i spent ages looking for any models of that and did not find any and they have done an amazing job if it as well :wall:

I really was looking forward to making that model, i might still make this but i am going to have a look through ideas folder and see if anything stands out, this was by far my most fav image i wanted to make though.

It doesn't matter if someone else made it already, do you know how many people have done what I'm doing? (Spawn) lots, if you like the concept/image I would say go for it and give it your own spin, no two models would be the same.

Not to mention the gazilion ferrari's, lamborgini's, armored suit robot things, and not to forget all the extremely hot 24 year old (elf) ladies that makes up 50% of all cg made.

Seriously, type "CG" into google image search....its embarrassing.

yeah you guys are right, im going to make this model anyway :)i did look through some of the other things i was thinking about making but this one still stands out as it will be a huge challenge and i just love this concept.

hi guys,

Ok, i managed to get some free time today to make a start on the model, still early stages just now but the main form is blocked out and ive marked out where i think the main flaps of skin etc are, going to get the chains and other metal pieces in next before adding in the small wings on his back.
here are a couple of images showing my start, made a super basic Zsphere base then jumped right into Dynamesh for blocking out :)
