The first thing I'd do is to make your banner and top of the page a little smaller as it takes up about a third of the screen (in height) and in my experience this can be very off putting for visitors. People want to see the bulk of the home page in the screen when they initially enter the site.
Another thing you might want to do is render your mettalic name with a different background so that it blends in better with the site.

A nice touch if you've got the time is to put a little bit about the work you've done under each image, especially in your portfolio such as what the brief was and what was used, what you were aiming at with the image etc..
