Help with 3D modelling

plz if anyone could help me....

im tryin to model a cartoon 3d model in max 5, i have been trying to find tutorials but i cant find one that helps me the way i need.

i have watched a few VTMs at www.cgtalk.com but they only went so far....

maybe if i could find some more free training vids i could find wat im missin...

thanx to anyone that can help me

p.s. i have made a few characters but i cant quite get it to look professional....any pros out there with suggestions

Err..watch the last two VTM issues on max 5 at 3DBuzz (http://www.3dbuzz.com). (you'll have to register if you aren't already)
They model some kinda alien creature I think - and I'm sure watching the vids would help you with the character you're trying to model.
