Well, actually its my first completed 3d artwork so dont be too rude with your crits! :D

I used 3ds max 5 and photoshop 6.0 and it took me about 2 hours to finish. :)

well, the cup does look rather good, the material is quite realistic. the dice look too brown-ish for my taste tho and the edges are a little too sharp
you might want to use DoF sampling for this, this gives a great amount of realism to the scene :)

Vieleicht geht das ein bischen schneller auf deutsch. DOF ( Deep of Field) ist nichts anderes als Tiefenunschärfe. Mit anderen Worten, alles was weiter von der Kamera entfernt ist als ein definierter Punkt (z.B. Brennpunkt der Kamera) wird unscharf. Ist ein schöner Effekt wenn man Nahaufnahmen macht wie auf deinem Bild. Bei Landschaftsaufnahmen wirkt es meistens eher so als ob man etwas Verstecken will, wird deswegen selten verwendet. Bei 3Dsmax musst du unter Rendering -> Effects -> Deep of Field auswählen. Das ganze funktioniert nur mit einer Kamera, du kannst also nicht einfach den Perspektivischen Viewport rendern, sondern musst eine Kamera verwenden. Dann musst du in dem DOF Menü als focalpoint den Brennpunkt der Kamera wählen, meistens heisst das Target01. mit den andern Parametern kann man dann noch so rumspielen.

Weiss ich, aber laut meinem tollen Max handbuch heisst der Effekt "Deep of Field" ist das Buch von BHV und da war das so bezeichnet :) .
