Hello,
More than a year ago I posted a 3D greeting card for the Islamic feast Eid Al Adha on this forum here (http://forums.3dtotal.com/showthread.php?threadid=3767&highlight=adha).

Now after a year and for the same occasion, I'm posting a sequel to that card. You can read the English translation for the Arabic text at my web site at http://www.yasserhassan.com/adha_card2.shtml as well as a bigger version.

The idea of the two images is simply is that the butchers are looking for the sheep and he's escaping and hiding from them.

Please feel free to send this card if you have friends who celebrate this occasion.

Regards,
Yasser

Asalaam Alikum bro. You have the skills, but I should seriously advise you to stop making images og anything with a soul (ie living objects such as humans, animals etc or those imatating them like robots with a human form and personality)

The only times this is accepted is for educational purposes.

Sorry to be serious, but it has to be done. The punishment is VERY serious for these matters.

Thank you everyone for your comments :)

MonteCristo-3DT: Got it, thanx a lot.

Profane: Thank you, it's from the Egyptian culture.

geoMan: There's an English translation on my web site and you can send the link to them directly
http://www.yasserhassan.com/adha_card2.shtml

X_Dror: Nice to know that you are learning Arabic :). The pronounciation of the big text is "Gezaret Abo Satoor". It's an ironic name actually related to our culture. The "satoor" is the big knife the man holding in his hand. "gezaret" is in Egyptian Arabic slang, "jezaret" is in other Arabic slangs.

Muhammad: Thank you :)

Sul...: Thank you for your advise, yes there are debates about this and they say that the cartoon movies like the high quality one about Profit Mohammad and the clay mation series called "Kesas Al Anbeyaa" (Stories of the Pfophits) are not "haram", but actually on the contrary, they are useful. I'm not a scholar to tell or debate. There are many links on the Links section on my web site with many Islamic and Fatwa resources, I advise you and myself to read and know more.

I know. It's a hard one. Especially for me as I was a professional illustator and animator. I actually started crying when I found out enough. You are correct though. There are many different opinions but most so no, and to be on the safe side I chose a different career path. I'm also very interested in 3D modelling of cars :D they look so damn cool

Thank you Sul, I appreciate your care and advise. It's not a big deal for me as my main line of work is software develoment and IT solutions and it won't hurt me much to leave 3D as a whole, but I do not agree on changing your career for this reason. What you are saying suggests evacuating the whole field in our communities from good committed people who work according to principles and morals and not only for profit. We know that on the other side there are 3D and cartoon works (not to mention the whole cinematic production) that promote ethics and morals that do not suit us like violance and other issues that do not suit our community. By evacutaing the field from people like yourself, you leave the whole scene open and if everyone committed one followed this concept then the result woule be: You are committed, then you leave business.

If I were you, I would stick to my passion and use my skills to promote good morals and ethics, and at the same time have fun making living of what I love to do.

Sir, I do not agree at all and I'm sure that our children would not be much interested or attracted to seeing cars all the time or just empty scenes with no characters dong something and run a story, and we can not close the whole field in our community, I'm sure Islam does not say so. As I said before, I'm not a scholar and I'm saying only my opinion and it's up to you at the end to decide what to do.

legato, forgot to say this... I did not want Kazlak to use the binoculars to show the resemblance to his father specially the face where I wanted him to look similar but younger, also I wanted to show the same look on the face (the eye brows), so it was not possible to hide them with the binoculars.

Thank you.
