Hi there...I got this idea by renszu's similair thread on cgchat...CLICK HERE TO WATCH (http://www.cgchat.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=17318)

It goes like mad over there..I thought let's try it here!

Greeble is a plugin which you can download at http://www.maxplugins.de

Just search for it at the top right...there will be only one result.
It quite fun to use it...

So c'mon...try and make a cool scene with this easy to handle plugin!

Here is my submission...

Ferry P

and on with another material....

Psistorm
28-01-2004, 08:50 AM
yeah, greeble is the ultimate max plugin :D

for my greeble work, go here:
http://earth.prohosting.com/thefnord/artdoc/cuiser/info.htm

images are rather, erm, huge, so I wont attach em here for the sake of quality :)

There's a .txt file in the zip file....you should read that!

BTW blackwolf....it's actually a little loft...with behind the corner a target spot with a high value shining in the loft...then a camera with extreme perspective...a nice material and it's done

MattyG
28-01-2004, 02:53 PM
I did read it I did everything it says and its still not on the list. When it says check show buttons then configure buttons I go up and down the list and its not there but shag hair and other things are.
EDIT-Winzip was lame and didnt extract the dlm so it wasnt there lol

I know I've seen that scene somewhere EF..
Err, did you make the whole scene yourself? I know I remember seeing something just like it in an Afterburn 3.0 review/article - err, without greeble of course.

Hehe, if you did do the whole scene from scratch..would you mind sharing some points on how it's built/setup?
The effect looks wicked! :)

Ferry P
28-01-2004, 11:13 PM
i created the scene myself from scratch.
I made a loft with a lot of segments...added a greeble modifier with a high density over it which is only visible for renders (so max won't crash)...put a target spot with a high value on the end of the loft shining into it and then place a camera with an extreme perspective...give the loft a cool material and you're set!

novoAlias
28-01-2004, 11:28 PM
yea for that planet thing i had to delete most of the scene so it wouldnt crash wen rendering, greeble is intensive, one of the images in the gallery seems to use ut? check in 3dtotal scifi gallery ull prob find it

Ferry P
28-01-2004, 11:46 PM
you mean this one?
Done by Marcelo Leal

BTW...how does one get such an cool lighting effect as in this pic?

Ferry P
31-01-2004, 07:41 AM

Are those boxes actually lighting the scene???
or do you have some omnis around the place?

02-02-2004, 04:36 PM
Honki: It's actually a little of both, there's omnis and the lights glow wich makes the whole scene brighter
