Oh... I forgot to say something about the bumpers or what they are called... However the bumpers are not original.. I thought I wanted to make some cool bumpers as they are in need for speed underground so this model is not supposed to look exactly as the real Nissan 350 Z.

by n4su i asume you mean that it is a nissan 250Z with body modifications. your car looks like its comin along well keep it up.
also where the front bumper meets the front spoiler there seems to be a openning that should or shouldnt be there. could you post a wire frame.

ops i notice now that it does look like you ment for a opennin but it still seems a little odd to place it there. but oh well thats why its a custom part.

Here's an other view..
OMG!!!
thtz really awesome!
i think the head lights need a bit of more work!
(specially the glass)
and the only problem i see is the grill..
it looks a bit odd, dont u think so?
rest is juss perfect!!!
cant wait to see it done!
Keep it up!!!

Well the grill is not gonna be there... When u say glass at headligt.... Which glass do u mean... Cause i dont have any glass on the whole headlight itself or du u mean at the little lamp???

Oh i almost forgot..... I've really big problems with my hdri.... The car is shining very very very much and it doesn't look real... How do I fix that problem????
Anyone know a good tutorial for hdri that is using default scanline render...
Check that the adjustment of the brightness on the logarithmic exposure control is corect.
i use max 5, hdri with vray... i never tried using hdri with scanline.
but as far as the heavy reflections are concerned...
try reducing the hdri multiplier, tht would do the job.
n btw, this is wat i meant by the glass..it wasnt the glass
as u said! sorry!
keep updating! :)

Thx alot for all comments and tips....
Here's an update... I've not modelled anything since last time, since I've worked with low-poly.... But however this is one of my first renders with HDRI and i shall fix the brightness... Any tip on how to make the reflection look more real????

Hi guys... No I'm back on this car from a big break... I've added some wheels to the car... but still I'm not satisfied with my reflections....
What du u think about the car?
the 350Z is a nice car, no need to rice it out.

Great model and technically its not ricing it out cuz ricing is like putting a boy kit on a 96 hyundai accent but if its a nice car it just makes it cool.
WOW! its lookin erally cool!
lights need some tweak though....
n btw, is that 3ds max's dof?
or ps's?
if 3dsmax' - how did you do it?
it looks fantastic! :D
keep it up dolle

Thx for the comments....
g69, i don't understand what u mean with dof and ps's...
But i'm using 3d max.....
have u tried to change to mental ray? I think the reflections on the rims will be better then. I had the same problem.
dolle39
08-03-2004, 03:49 AM
Hehe.... Well that's maybe true but i don't really have a real rim material... I will apply a chromematerial soon....

Hi again... I tried to change the HDRI map and the render to mental ray and i also applied a chromematerial at the rims... As u said Ape, mental ray gives better results... well i really agree and u also get about 98% reduced render time. :)
The "backmirrors" or what they are called, are only for test, i made those for my Audi A8 so they are not original Nissan...
As u maybe see, I've cheated with the chairs inside the car.. well I'm gonna fix that...
I'll be back soon....
i see some massive improvements!!!
keep it up...
n btw... the dof i asked is the depth of field.
i figured it out 2day... you can check out my cart for that ;)
keep us updated...
i seriously cant wait to see more of this!
ps. yday i saw this car being transported...
damn reminded me of NFSU! :D (Came back and re-installed it)

hi, just want to ask, about ur headlights, how do u make them like that, with that cool reflection inside them, im workin on a 350z and have finished everythin but the lights :( can u help, or post the texture u used, cheers
sorry for puttin this on ur thread :)
:halo:

Hi... Thx for all comments.... Nice to hear that u've installed it again... The game is really good... Enough of this...
Davie563... The headlights on this car is very simple and i'm not satisfied with them as they are now... But the material is simple....
-A standard material with a grey colour at the diffuse spot and some about 35 at specular lvl and about 28 at glossiness.... And the most important... At the reflection spot, I've put a RAYTRACE material with about 90 in reflection.... Hope u understand this... (Sorry for my english)
Here's an update again...
I've made new seats for the car.. Even though those are maybe not totally finished... I also made some kind of !!"extra bars... so the car dont totally get crashed"!! And i also made some kind of air intake at the roof of the car (like in NFSU)
;) .
Thats it for now....

You have a few problems, the HDRI reveals the line where the mirrored side meets with the side u modelled. The front of the car (the big red circle) seems to stand out too much to me and looks rather odd.. as if you pasted the render in PS and used liquify and enlarged that section... but is probably the angle of the car.
The tyres have no tred and i'm sure this isn't a car meant for drags!!! I don't know what you used for the ground plane but it's shocking! What's worse is the background material.. whatever that is.
The car looks nice, try rendering from looking DOWN at teh car a bit so we can see the roof scoop.. which probably wouldnt be on that kind of car since it's a thing needed in rally's and not street cars.

Thx for the comments tobes... That was some critic that i really needed... I will fix the problems..... Now I know why the background look like crap... I forgot to turn on spherical environment.... hehe...
