here a run cykle 4 a squirrel made mostly 4 testing fur.
squirrel (www.3d.stenebyskolan.se/calle/squirrel.avi)
crits are wellcome.
It looks good although it's hard to judge how the fur looks like when he is running like his life was depending on it :P maybe you could post a still?

the tail doesn't move enough, that was the first thing I noticed wrong with the animation, also the feet kinda look too big in the movie! Hope this helpS!

Hi Blunder, the fur modeling looks good but the orange parts are too orange. I think you should use a less saturated color.
Yes, the fur looks good even though it's moving but the tail fur looks sort of wierd. It doesn't fit in with the rest of the fur. Atleast not the red(dark red) fur.

the only different on the tale are the long black hairs and they are suppose to be there if my refere squirrel didn't have some wierd fur or someting :)

I believe that you modeled the bulk of the tail...a real squirrels tail is like that of a rat...its the fur that gives it the bulk....i think that your tail looks to bee too bulky underneath the fur...the hairs should be long and full to give the tail that fluffy look....i also agree that it needs to move more during the run cycle...
hope that helps

I really think you should get some reference of squirel run cycles. the legs should be offset like every 4 legs run/walk cycles. look at the head movement too, and the tail.
reference help a lot to understand movement.

I like it, it kind of reminds me of that little squirrel like creature on Ice Age, I love that little guy. I think though, that the tail needs the be thinner with longer hairs, as said above. Also, the run pattern, when a squirrel runs his front feet land behind his back feet, maybe arch the back more and push his front legs farther back. Other than that, looks great. The pic is of the Grey squirrels run pattern. Hope this helps.

thanx 4 the comments, acually the front feet allways land at the same level as the head and then the body puch its weight forward, i guess u mean that the back feet lands infront of the front feet wich i have done.
maybe i should exaggerate that some to make it more noticeable?
