anyone hear the news? the best ever pc rpg. the falloiut series. looks like
is gonna end with fallout 2, brotherhood of steel was sort of a strategy game.
well the news is that black isle studios, who we practically responcible for
the previous 2 fallouts, has been murdered.. well not murdered but, Iterplay
productions decided to layoff, (without warning,) many many black isle studio
employees. who were already in production of fallout 3. (ahaaaaaaahhhh!!)
well, so thats it for that. fallout was the best ever, why would something like
this happen.

War.. war never changes, the end of the world occured pretty much as we predicted. To many humans, not enough space or resources to go around. The
details are trivial and pointless, the reasons as always: purely human ones.

The Earth was nearly wiped clean of life. A great cleansing. An atomic spark
struck by human hands. Quickly raged out of control. Spears of nuclear fire rained from the skies. Contanants were swallowed in flames, and fell beneath the boiling oceans. Humanity was almost extinguised, their spirits becoming part of the background radiation. That blanketed the Earth. A quiet darkness fell accross the planet... lasting many years.

Few had survived the devastation, some had be fortunate enough to reach safety, taking shelter in great underground vaults. When the great darkness passed, these vaults opened, and their inhabitants emerged to begin their lives again.

One of the northern tribes claims they are decended from one such vault, the whole their founder and ancester, one known as the vaultdweller, once saved the world from a great evil. According to their legend, this evil arose in far south, it corrupted all it touched, twisting men inside, turning them into beasts. Only though the bravery of this vaultdweller, was the evil destroyed. But in so doing, he lost many of his friends and suffered greatly, sacrificing much of himself, to save the world. When at last he returned to the home he had fought so hard to protect, he was cast out...exiled... and confronting that which they feared, he had become something else in their eyes, and no longer their champion.

Forsaken by his people, he strode into the wasteland. He traveled far to the north, where he came to the great canyons, there he founded a small village... Aroyo, where he lived out the rest of his years. And for a generation since its founding, Aroyo has lived in peace, its canyons sheltering it from the outside world. It is home... your home... but the scars left by the war have not yet healed...and the Earth... has not forgotten.

maaan, realllY I just found this out the other day, how old of news is this?
'and for you man, the controls were easy! I mean got games like unreal and quake where you need to be preesing 17 different keys at one time, fallout only had 5. it was so great, the story, the plot, the weapons, characters, i'm really bummed their will never be a fallout 3.

you could always turn to morrowind or star wars knights of the old republic, both really great games! (no, the creators of morrowind and KOTOR didnt pay me to say that :D)

i played fallout demo at 10 ( oe 11, cant remember ) and i thought "now this is a Game" , since then i played 1 , 2 and a bit of brotherhood of steel.

Fallout is a mix between humour, action ( it has the best sound effects iv ever seen ! ) and story...

i will never forgive interplay.....damn them.....damn them all ! ( grabs vindicator minigun and starts firing at everione laughing like a maniac )

i played the demo too, together with a friend and alone, for hours and hours to come. we examined every little detail the demo would offer - and there were plenty of them!

feeding dogmeat, usingthe pliers to cut off the energy supply, joining one gang or another, fighting the brahmin...

I read that fallout 3 wouldn't come a couple of weeks or months ago on a website. don't have the link handy, but I will post it here, when I get home (next monday).

The creators of Fallout are now the head people at Troika. They've said that they would love to continue the fallout line (I read this about a month ago, it was in an interview for their new game). So I'm not exactly giving up hope.

But I thought Black Isle Studios went under a LONG time ago...

Fallout 3 has now been taken over by the people at Bethesda Softworks!

So they have! (http://www.bethsoft.com/news/pressrelease_071204.htm)

Let us all rejoice! I just hope they don't screw it up ;)

They've screwed it up allready: It's 3D. Why does EVERY game have to come in realtime 3d nowadays?
Don't they know that they can't beat the looks of something pre-rendered yet? It's saddening to see Fallouts great graphics replaced by cheezy, almost comical lowpoly models.

Deathclaws with guns?!

Quoting nma-fallout.com:

The diehard Fallout fans are demanding that Fallout 3 take place from a top-down view and that its combat will be turn-based. I've read many comments that say it's not Fallout without these elements. What can you say to those fans right now to ease their minds?
Pete Hines: Until we show the game itself, nothing we say will ease their minds.

Well, I saved the post apocalyptic world once again.

I wanted to finish yesterday night, but I had other things to do, like taking care of petty **** on forums.

anyway, i win! again! :o

I'm trying to break vic out of the slaver's guild. Kinda weird. I had heard that fallout 3 was going to be similar to morrowind the perspective. Glad it's not.

Haha, I can imagine - freaky enough I can actually read it

Imagine some ppl really talk like that!

Garett, as far as I have read they haven't decided on what kind of perspective they want. But the screenshots clearly show a third person 3d perspective. However, I want a 3d pre-rendered one. Never change a winning team...
