It looks good. The only problems I can see are the slightly too big rear thrusts and the lights are a bit too small.
Just myopinion. Looks good.

I agree w/ Kanno- also, it needs more detail in general, but of course it's just WIP ;)

well after a long time i started to work on my craft again and made some changes to the engine type etc.
tell me what you think so far.. applied symmetry modifier (makes things really easy)..

Not much of a progress or is it?
I like the first one with the open cabin better to be honest.

looking at it, it seems to lack something to stabilize the rear, imo it wouldnt be too controllable with those huge thrusters, but Ill wait and see how it develops :)

i think it needs more sharp edges...and i´m sure you are working on that..of course some more detail...otherwise the overall shap/design looks good...but i wonder, does those thing at the front have any function or are the there because they simply look good...i mean as the enginge is in the back of the ship...:)
keep going!
ugursahin1234
13-03-2004, 03:04 AM
well as i desgned it in my head, those things at front will be where two engines will be placed. to sum up there will be two small engines on the sides and a stronger one at the bac of the craft. By this way it will be balanced a bit.
any suggestions about this opinion??
critics are always welcome..

Update!!
decided to leave the roof open and modelled the front window..
also created the holes for the small engines I told earlier..
what do u guys think of it so far?
cool :) very nice start, I like the design style :)

modelled the engine, I know it might look a bit too reflective but Im aware of the and will change it.. U can make judgement about the modelling..
Cheers!:)

i really like this..its kinda star warsy/modelled-after-a-lobster.. haha its awsome..keep it up..;)
i'm in a banana mood
very cool, i like how the engine looks now, looks like its on fire :) You should make it convertible lol

14-03-2004, 06:34 PM
I think it looks much better now.
The only thing is that the spaceship it's small but it seems to need three motor. maybe the one in the back could be smaller? Just my opinion.

just a very small update!!
Just finished adding some sharp edges on the rear of the craft and side doors..

nice!!, it looks better and better all the time..:), i´m not sure i like all thr chrome on the engine..but that´s just a matter of taste...

16-03-2004, 12:33 PM
two things
1) is that the gas cap on the back? if it were futuristic..wouldnt it have some sort of hydrogen cell or something?
2) the scoops on the side, wouldnt there be a grill there rather than a whole?
I like it so far though, its reall cool..
:)
ugursahin1234
16-03-2004, 12:38 PM
heh u r actually right about the gas cap.. I ll maybe remove it..
and the scoops; there will be grills of course as you said, doh i aint finished modelling it, its coming along slow but nicely..
But really thanx for critics.. :)

what program are u using to create this?
cause i was wondering how you made the glass..im horrible at it, and i need realistic glass for my space scooter.. could u help me at all?
ugursahin1234
18-03-2004, 11:33 AM
hey neiy0!
Im using 3D studio max v6 for this scene and mental ray as a renderer. well as u might guess, mental ray has its own glass metarial that you can assign to an object. Its called i think "glass phenomena" metarial..
well almost all other 3rd party renderers have thier own glass metarials i think (as brazil, final render stage, etc.)
hope this helps..

thanks..but unfortunately im using a student education version of max 5..so i dont have that..i guess ill figure it out someday..thanks though..

Updated the wings and some other things.. I realised that the seat wa way too close to the front of the craft so i just pulled it backwards a bit and added some sharp edges to give it a more detailled look (will still add more details of course)
Tell me what u think about the updates and overall please
Thnx

Hey man, looking really good.
I love the over all design of it. Maybe my robot chick can take it for a spin when shes done.
What are you planning for the back of the ride.
Also my only crit would be about the engine. It looks great. But I'm thinking the front of the engine might be to pointy. Maybe round the dome of it a alittle. The dome that rest on the engine blades. Either way your model is rockin.
heres my Female android.

I like the updates, i just don't like the sharp thing on the wings, i think that the shape is organic and those things aren't, I don't know they don't sem to match ( hpoe you understand what i'm trying to say.
neiy0
20-03-2004, 04:59 PM
agreed..i don't like the spikey things on the wings..they dont quite fit..also another thing is the aerodynamics of all those scoops on the wings..with that shear amount of them..that probably wouldnt help the aerodynamics, but probably hinder.. if you want scoops then you would probably want just like two on each side... also what is that line in the back right of the tail of the jet? it doesnt look like it's supposed to be there..or something misplaced?
looks good apart from that though :)
ugursahin1234
21-03-2004, 01:43 AM
well those sharp spikes on thw wings are supposed to give the craft a bit of striking look, i really like them doh and that sharp edge on rear engine is not supposed to mean anything i ve put it there just to add some more sharp edges and detailled looking, I dont think it looks that weird :) but thanx for ur opinions anyway i appreciate...
When u design something that does not exist or has a bluerprints or any reference, u gotta use ur own imagination on order to progrees and Im experimenting this stage currently, because I cant modell it with any reference, so there comes the imagination (lots of technical things are wrong like u said "aerodynamics of the engines" etc.) but hehe that much technical knowledge I do not ve yet... maybe in the future :D
Im gonna keep on proggressing and adding some more details just out of my mind, when im happy with them Im gonna post an update...
Really thankx for every1 that responds and gives his/her opinion...
Stay tuned ;) :D

agreed..i have an invention that has no blue prints and this will hopefully revolutionize underwater breathing..it is best for your imagination to go wild..haha but in my case i have to logical really logical haha..

Such a long time no update!! I ve been extremely busy with school so had no time to start up the max.. During that time brainstormed a bit to create a scene composition for my craft, here you can se what i ve so far...
Probably u ll notice that the flames of the craft are not looking like engine flames so whats the point in that? The craft is about to crash and thats the moment seconds before it happens!! thats why the flames of the engines are that way... There will be a cool explosion appearing from the end of the tunnel so that it ll look like the craft s kinda trying to escape from it..
In order to give a fast and furious impression :D i blurred the tunnel with a high intense so it looks daaaaaaamn fast :P
Thats just the beginning thoug, during this process of course i do need help of u guys and your citics... I know there are a lot of thigs that do not look completely right or that can be improved,, so just do not hesisate to mention them please... together we ll make this scene to a succes :P ;)

Nice render UGU!
That hover craft looks mean.
Are you planning to put some decals on it?
Ya I just got out of school for spring break as well. But Only get one week off. Grrrr
LoL!
Nice composite, Is that part photshop.
I still got quite aways to go with my model.
Glad to see you got some time to open up Max.

hey cryenn whats up man?
Fine to be on business again he :P BTW no photoshop there just 3D, maybe a photoshop trick at the end but not yet...
oh yeah decals man I actually wanna put some cool decals on it but i wouldnt know what!! so if u come up with a cool logo or any idea just let me know.. Now im gonna check your Robo-chick...
Hope to combine them in the end man,,would be a perfect match right?
decals decals decals!! sounds cool really, just keep it in mind :P :D

the movement looks real nice, but two things; i'm assuming there is going to be a driver? also, the fire looks to blocked out, usually when fire is going, the flames and colors just mesh together more smoothly, it just looks like three seperate blocks, if u get what I am saying?
Anyways, looks nice :)

It looks really nice, can you tell me what kind of material are you using I have my spaceship, but i can'tfind the right material.

it looks like a simple car material, with falloff and raytrace maps..? try going to 3dtotal.com and going to the free tutorials, and there is a car paint one..

Update!! As you see I took my time to tweak some things...
I re-modelled the part where two small engines attached to te wings so that they look more proper and better i think because before it was looking strange...
The colour of the flames are changed so that they blend better.
Explosion chasing after the craft...
Hehe i must say I faked the motion blur of the tunnel very well because what u see there is no motion blur but a texture that is created in photoshop with some motion blur effect so i saved really like %50 render time... Can you see the difference? :D :D
I added some motion blur for the engines to support the idea that the craft is IN ACTION!!...
Added some DOF (I ve doubts actually how it looks like please tell me what u think about the DOF maybe more shutter size??))
AT the last Im waiting for cyrenn's robo chick to get to the driving seat to finish up a bit!!! jeeee its gonna be cool man!!..

oww By the way I think someting went wrong with the front window metarial bu do not mind it,,, just got confused with all tweakings so i forgot to re-assign glass metarial :D

Ok people, another update!!.. I had some critisism about how the flames look so i decided to recreate them... this time these flames look morelike engine flames and the idea that the craft is about the crush down has vanished...
Please tell me which one looks better? old flames or the new ones?? or shall i remove the explosion in the tunnel as well??
go ahaead and shout ur opinion please... i need them
Dont mind how the small engines look because there has to be some motion blur!! thats just a quick render...
Cheers ;)

Nice craft !
I'm just a beginner but I think you may use some gradient to reduce the blue flames tips opacity
Cyrenn
05-04-2004, 04:33 PM
Looks fabulous Ugu,
All you need is a few logo's on it.
I like the render , especially the new engines.
And the engine flames add alot to the picture. All its missing is a driver. LOL!

hey, nice model. i think your flames could use a lot of work though. first of all, they aren't parallel with the engines, so that makes them look really face. second, I think the blue flames are way too long. the flames would diminish much quicker. third, there would not be a orange explosion spot in the background...rather, make the blue flames fade into orange flames like on a real jet.

06-04-2004, 09:29 AM
I ve been playing with the lighting a bit and came up with this by taking the critics into consideration about the explosion that emits the light in the tunnel... I personally think that i pretty much achieved that ambiance effect... Now it looks more believable with the light that explosion scatters...
BTW really thnx for those ctitics, really accurate ones.. I ll try to correct them and post an update soon! Stay tuned
tell me what u think please!!
thnx

cool, cool
cept i don't get why turbines would power a space craft (no air in space)
but DON"T take em off lol, i'm just picking for lack of other things to pick at. looks cool, but the explosions and flames just need some boring tweak work to look real ;)
good luck, looking great! :D
ugursahin1234
06-04-2004, 02:26 PM
hehe thanks for the commants man!
Im busy with tweaking the flames and the explosion..
The craft is not supposed to be in the space so lets say its on earth in a tunnel :D

Ugu. The dark look is great. I like the overall color scheme of it.
Keep up the great work.
Its has a great monochromatic look to it.
