hey guys i have a problem with bones, I don't know how to connect the bones to the character itself..how would I go about doing that?
If anyone could help me that would be great, because this is a very akward character to animate because he walks on his hands, which act as his legs, and he has no legs so he can't use a biped im guessing? I'm using a school version of 3dMax 5..
thanks..

place the bones where u want them to be.
After that Add a SKIN modify on the character and then ust select all the bones And start Envelop =) Enjoy

Well, to start off you will probably have to move the arms or the ears. I can imagine they will be unbelievably frustrating to bone when they intersect like that. I know you can select and assign verts to links, etc. but the enveloping looks terrifying to me like this - but that's just me and I'm easily terrified I guess.
You can definately use Biped. You just have to turn off the links you won't be using. I guess you just won't be able to animate with the footsteps option, which really isn't that big a deal.

yeah thanks Fizzy, the arms and the ears arent really supposed to be connected, that's just the way that they were modelled. It wouldnt have been a problem if his ears werent so darn big! haha..thanks for the info anways..
cheers
