hmmm...
That big white plastic shell is covering up a lot of the good stuff
how about a version with a transparent body?

it could happen;)

yes... that is a big white shell... they are made of fiberglass (not typically transparent :))... but a transparent version would be cool... i shall test the theory!

thanks for the input - keep it coming.

The modeling looks great.
But the blue renders kind of bug me.
Yeah, i know it's kind of pointless to crit the presentation of a WIP.
But still ...

Some of those images have nice compositional stuff going on.
All they need is some textures and they would be very nice.
WIP or no.

i used to own it. i crashed my kit irrepairably 3 times and at $550 a pop, i decided that was enough for me!... but doing this project has made me want to get one this year, so i just may.... (dont tell the wife!!!!)

tail is done.
the battery still needs some modelling and texturing.
and the wirework needs to modelled and textured.

i am starting to work on lights. not easy! its an fg scene with one infinite light for speculars. i am really in need of suggestions in the lighting department. first it's too light, then too dark, then shadows are bad, then shadows are gone, etc, etc. thanks for any suggestions

your modelling is ****in great! thought the last picture looks wrong, because of the lensen used in the pic and the one in max being of a diffrent value... but the modell and the texture is awesome...

mmiller
12-03-2004, 03:47 AM
yeah
You seem to go back and forth between too dark and too light.
I'm afraid I can't be of much help there.
But, should look pretty great with the right light ;)

I agree keescopyright
the distortion is too extreme on that last image.
also seems a little skewed.

i used images from quickheli.com and the internet, and my memory.

i am deep deep deep into the texturing and lighting... very tricky, extremely time consuming on my dual p3 833mhz!

---CUT/PASTE---

still plugging along. i know, i know - canopies are not really clear, but i figured, no sense in covering up all that modeling.... of course now the ray depth is not right.. back to the drawing board.
