how did i know a joan of arc sword would show up, nice work as far, not really swords more like daggers but here ya go, the blade isnt very metalic looking though so i should probably re do some textures. hope this thread pics up cause i LOVE swords

i like the katana although i think the blood could use a little work, cool model. i might be makin a katana in real life, gonna enscribe stuff on the blade and everything. not like it will be a pro done one though oh well cant hurt to try it.

Well i dont have a full sword, i just have a blade of a sword im working on. The program i use will suprise most of you, and you will be asking how i did it. I only used Paint shop pro 7 and Bryce 5. Yup Bryce 5.

really nice sword but that realy could be a smaller pic.

Thor thats a nice sword, is that polymodled details or just texture? cause polys would realy hurt ones comptuer.(but is would look cool and thats all that matters) lol

@neo_mosher_zion: the details are made with a colour map and a bump map. it's for a scene my computer couldn't handle all these polies if i would model these details

hi, these all look amazing, too bad i dont have anything to contribute because i got no idea of how to make a sword, what techniques do you guys n gals use, do you box model the whole thing, do you use splines, ive tried making swords, but they just dont come out the way i want them too lol.

Not really a sword but it's got a blade. This was the very first model i made (apart from a few cubes) and it never got finished. Sorry about the black background.

I looked at all those nice looking swords and thaught let's make a couple myself. Can someone give me some pointers to make it better then this? I can't seem to get a good material for the blade.

I tried the joan of arc tutorial and i couldnt follow it ; (, and when I try my own i cant seem to make a material that looks suitable for the blade :/
