Looks great, only crit is that you'd might want to control the ink lines a bit more. Like on the snow. It looks a bit um.. harsh maybe. But great style none the less. The mechanical ski wire thing looks great!

Very nice cartoon style! I think the snow looks bad though. It looks dirty, I'd prefer more blue-greyish shadow rather than black.

Well, here are some thoughts on snowboard boots (but still thinkin' about colors for our characters :) ) + I've changed color of the snow. :)

Perhaps adding a small amount of self illumination to the snow material may help....and a really light grey/blue in the ambient of the material. Looks interesting so far.

Nice work...
I like the ink-toon renders. It seems pretty easy to get nice results with it...you know....no textures on your models...but not really...I kinda like your work.
Thumbs up for ya!

I don't like the colours...I mean orange/blu/white...they don't work toghether...(but it's my personal opinion)but other than that the models look nicely done....I'm a fan of the toon-render style...

keep it up russian!! :)

Those bindings are awsome! they so real (aside from the toon render) I'm looking at mine right now, how long did it take you to make them?!?

Thank you, guys! We'll try not to dissapoint you in future too :)

2 Dragonkiss - it's standart 3D Studio Max Ink'n'Paint shader - nothing special. Try it for yourself and you will see - there can be a very nice result with it. If you tweak it a little :)

Very nice style! Very well done!! ;)
Congratulations!!!

I never got nice results using Ink and Paint :grr: , allthough I had tryed a lot of times. I always lose details on the outlines...
Would it be a problem for you to send a pict of your texture settings? It would be very helpfull! thanx!!! :D

Pedro Toledo, thank you! We are preparing a tutorial how to reach such result. But if you want it now - contact me by PM. :) But I advise you to wait for the tutorial - there will be more usefull information about using Ink'n'Paint shaders and how to solve some possible problems.

this tutorial idea is great....do you a web site so that we can see more about you and your work?

(o)ne
09-03-2004, 05:02 AM
We don't have website - we do this in our free time (I mean this cartoon, but our job is 3D graphics too - in medicine).

Here is one of my projects - (o)neBike.

And if you want more pictures I can send some by email.

There is a tutorial on cel' shading at 3dtotal already ( if you wanted to use that) Here are the resaults I got from it ( I did this a while back)

bunglo, thanks for the info - guys, look for the existing tutorial :) But I think we'll write another one - because tutorial you are talking about is "how to make standard shader look like toon-material".
And we are using Ink'n'Paint shader. There are different results.
