robotics project scene02

this is a much bigger scene then scene 1, and theres alot of scene development that must be done, but i wanted to make the mech first cause it is a computer controlled mech and i can use it in the BOXX compition. he he he

not textured yet but i have some of the IK worked out

glad you like it. heres a update, im making it have alot of wires hanging down. only problem is that its somewhat hard to see them from certain angle but i am happy with the way they look.
for texture lovers its gonna be textured when everything is done, no sooner, when i made the textures for the tank in the robo scene 01 it looked trashy and i didnt want that to happen again.

i did a little more work, i made lenses.... i like making lenses

as for the wires, i dont wanna cause my comptuer will die, im making a pretty big scene with effects and more then one of these mofos, and its already 250,000 polys. i am trying to make it as LOW poly as i can..... rendering a scene with 3000000 polys and effects all over the place tends to make my comptuer not like me much, result is crashes and system errors :'(

Damn neo that is nice but I agree with BlackWolf in his current design he would fall foward. You should shorten the front or move the top back so it's more centered over the legs. Either way keep up the great work!

ok heres another update, i did try and centre it a bit, although the main reason for your guys idea of it fallin over is cause you havent seen a buket im making on the back, a post will be up soon enough of it.

the details are cool but poly costly... BUT WHAT ISNT lol ah fun... ive been awake too long.

as for animation, i have the legs worked out in kinimatics... i have made a movie but its not good, i might post the finished product some day

glad you like it.

this picture is the model that im going to enter in the BOXX compition. although its still gettin this fixed on it

im starting the textures, first im breacking the whole thing into groups, once thats done then i can start working on the actual metalic/rust textures. enjoy

the scene that the mech walks threw is a distroyed city, naturaly im gonna have cars and rubble all over the place, heres a pic of what ive done to my skyline, crits are very welcome

and then i opend up a old file THE LANCER... figured i could easily enough make it looks crappy. lol

although im not pleased with the texture on the lancer

The last and the first textures on the cars looks best. The other one just doesn't look real... Great robot model too! keep us updated

glad you like it, the cars are gonna have some more texture changes.... but the middle one isnt as good, i might not use it at all.

heres a link to a site a friend just threw together to show off the progress of this prject, he is also workning on it and the stuff he shows of is mostly the stuff hes made, where as the stuff i post in here is the stufff ive made.... mind you ive done the design of the scenes and the camera views for it. another friend named mike_ds on this forum is the "director" and hes helpd out showin me how to get cameras rite.

no offense but that ground texture is horrid
maybe you should tile it more
anyways, the models look pretty good, but theres a ton of color variation. If youre going for a futuristic mech scene the bright reds and yellows dont set the atmosphere too much
keep workin tho :)

thanks yea the ground is actualy is a metal texture sooo its natrualy gonna look cruddy.
