heh. What kind of errors are you seein' in Vice City? I have it for PC (got as close to 100% as possible without going insane) and it didn't lock up once...

WOW, I can't recall wether they had that in the PS2 version. Looks like im going to have to get to the 3rd city just to get the heli.

I do see bugs, still quite a bit like getting stuck in the wall. In downtown area near amunation with the latest guns there is a high set up stairs that your suppose to go up with your Bike but if you miss in a certain way you'll get trapped in the wall. Thats just 1 bug. But im seeing a lot of silly mistakes that can slip through away from the average gamer but as 3d artists we have a sight for these things. And im talking about seaming textures or a bad constructed model. Ill post a few pics in a bit.

Oh man, every game i've ever played has stretched textures, faulty mip-mapping, poly shearing, sloppy models or some just plain gross-looking texture. About getting stuck in walls, yeah, i've done that a few times. Just think about the complexity of the physics model in that game though. It's primarily meant to calculate collisions between automobiles, bikes, and other things. When you have a little dude running around on a completely different scale in the same game, it's gonna get tricky. Especially with today's computers.

But think how perfect every level will have to be in Unreal 3?! The level demo I saw looked like it took as much material, lighting and model tweaking as one of the more simple CG scenes do nowadays. whacky stuff.

Oh, to get the Hunter you have to get all 100 hidden packages ... or maybe if you just finish the game it shows up on the helipad on the most southern tip of the first area you start in... I dunno. I just played through the game, got a map of where all the packages were, and noticed, "HEY! there's a cool lookin' chopper!"

I don't think you have to finish the game. The Hunter is in the military base and you have to wear policeman clothes or the soldiers will shoot at you

yes......its no lie that there are lots of faults in the games.....and I can understand to a certain degree why, but when you have main characters that are going to be shown through 95% of the game, i think there should be some attempt to resolve these issues dont u? Ill post a pic real soon to show you an example.

As for getting stuck in walls, I don't blame the programmers at all.....i think the programmers are amazing for giving life to models and animation........i blame those good for nothing testers. They have to inspect every aspect of the game.....so why can we still see major errors? Yo9u can't get everything, but obvious things should be fixed before the final release.

There are even bloodier games than that...can't remember right now, but I remember how Quake 3 Arena looks like with many players on small maps with rocket laucher (you can't see anything but blood and body parts flying around your head until it falls)

OMG!!!! Deus Ex!!!! I loved that game.....when I first baught it, I thought those were the greatest graphics ever. But that was a challenging game......I think I stopped playing it few levels after hells kitchen.

well, thats what might keep you to the sims, its hard to "beat" I don't believe there is an actual definative objective but if you play to an objective then it will take you a while. First you have to fill your WHOLE city with something and after you generated enough money your have to replace everything with some futuristic buildings. And there are also historical buildings like the Empire State, CN Tower, and lots more! Ill post a close up screen of the city so you know how it looks up close.

played the demo (farcry) a couple weeks ago, its pretty objective based so theres not many ways to do stuff, and its fast paced so the demo level is quick if you just go crazy with grnades and stuff :D :p
it also has a couple of extremely unrealistic helicopters and a hover plane thing cant remember.. osprey i think...

but vv nice grrafix on my computer :D

Here's another one from thief.....i got tired of playing stealth so I went with my happy dagger and pick fights with everybody. Its actually really fun......and its easy to dodge them if the have swords, just hit em once and run away.

This screen is Garrett in front of a fire. I dont know why his right eye is like that.....guess ill have to play the first or second one to find out.

I played on those too but didn't like it:) I got pretty high on level, but as far as I know they ruined the old leveling system, now you can easily be lvl 20-30-40 and u play against any lvl player:P

I enjoy the gameplay, a lot more teambased than other games. Only problem i've had so far is horrible framerates in online servers. When I host a server i never drop below 40fps, when im in a 30 player server I never get over 30fps.... Me dont like, hopefully they fix this before releasing the game tomorrow.

Well for the last 2 days I have absolutley BOMBED in counter strike......I haven't got a decent headshot in 48 hours!! This hasen't happened ever since I was new to cs :eek: So putting my gun back in the closet until I get a good score running again.

I didnt get on at EA, my stuff was good they said, but it wasnt high poly enough (earlier stuff) so ive been workign on that, as far as i knew they had some postitions left open for if they want more ppl, im gunna still try to get on.

One day i will work for EA, that is my dream, nuff said :) im still in contact with that guy (mentor thing) he got promoted to technical lead, so hes realyl really busy, havent heard back from him in a bit however :(

I don't see any graphics improvements, it looks the same as NFS U 1 so i think it will have the same system requirements.

Look closely. There are improvements (the neon reflection and light on asphalt for one thing). But I agree that it looks pretty much like the first Underground, so the requirement should be identical, but who really knows, I mean look at Vice City, it asks for more resources than GTA3 and the improvements are few

no money's not an issue, I got that, I guess I got myself to blame, I spend money on going out, movies, and now I'm saving enough for a car so i could buy new hardware but it's not a priority. But I must admit, seeing all those new games and people talking about them, makes me wanna REALLY play them, like Thief 3 looks awesome, or need for speed underground or far cry etc, I love car games but the one I can run is like need for speed 5 :)

and about how I can use 3d apps, well I've posted my images here, not saying that they're great or anything but you can create descent stuff without great hardware, btw my computer is a p3 800 mhz, 256 SDRAM, and a geforce 2 mx, so I live ;)

Just reading more on San Andreas............and i just cant wait. You people dont understand.........NONE of the games I have compare to san andreas, and I didnt even play it yet...........yup, not even counter strike. I just can't believe a game like this exists.......I have to thank the gays, feminists, environmentalists, moms and anybody else the game has offended for not taking the game to an extream of complaining and shutting down productions.

I would full out spend over $200 for this game. Thats how much I love it. Holy crap there are so many changes its not even funny. Basically the game is vice city times 10. So its getting A LOT more complicated. Complicated leads to detail, detail leads to hour and hours of gaming, hours and hours of gaming lead to fun, and fun leads to glasses..........DAMMIT thats were they get ya!! lol :haha:

Anyway, you gotta give mad respect to the bike, for the love of god, its got chrome!!! and you cant say anything against chrome.......that would just be......well......unjust!! That would be so funny if you could run over people with your bike.

And when I said it gets complicated.........i mean it. As I read, it seems that you will have to eat regularly in order to live. If you dont eat enough stamina goes down and eventually you die. Eat too much, and you will be fat (the geometry expands when you eat too much!!!) and you will run slower. Hows that for complicated? Oh and did I mention the most obvious thing that rockstar improved and which made every gamer pissed in the past versions?? HE CAN SWIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you right, thats kind of what I was hoping too, you dont have to eat to often otherwise there will be too much going on. Because the basis of the game has changed a lot since the past two. You have to keep track of a lot of things. You also have to form your own gang and assign them missions, so its going to get pretty complicated. And if all that is not enough you have to deal with miles apon miles of road. For gta3 it didnt take too long to memorize the roads but it was still enormous. In vice it took me substantiallty longer and I still dont know ever inch of all the city's/islands. In San Andreas, Houser claims that its going to be at least 6x bigger than vice. How the hell am I going to memorize that!! And its not like its a choice, I have to since I love the game so much........but im sure it'll be a pleasure :)

I just hope they wont introduce anther character like Lance Vance Dance. Who the hell down at rockstar was smoking when they came up with that name :eek: Anyway the characters look tough, carl johnson seems like he will be fun to control. His gangster brother looks like there is a creative personality behind him. And lets not forget Mercedes and Candy Sux #2 :p

I dunno. What always kills a game series? Either no advance in the graphics or ... MICRO-MANAGEMENT! Well, what would the point be of not putting it in right? Its a great addition that adds variety. Thats all Rockstar is trying to achieve. I know some people were complaining about there not being enough change in vice so san is dedicated to creating diversity from its predecesors. I'm totally encouraging it, but im happy with minor adjustments.........but then again rockstar cant just think of me rather than the millions!!

In all megaman (execpt 1) is there 8bosses and + a new world with all 8bosses + some more.. and last the EVIL dude.. but he always escape or survive to make new robots.. thats why there is about 16MegaMans..

ahhhh, thats much better, this game was great! I absolutly sucked at it, but it was good. It was long time ago but I think I couldn't get past the guy after the Big belly dude. I actually suck at all boxing games except one (Knockout kings 2000) I dominated that game on n64 but times have changed. Im still stuck in the begining of the millenium :(

well yes your right, the radeon 9800 xt does comes with half life 2. But not a download........just imagine trying to download hl2.......HL2!!!! it would taking nother short of 6 months. Hell it has many trailers, some aren't on the official site (don't know why). I remember the first in which he was shooting at some guys on a building and a watertower and showed how they fall and how they hit the walls or object in their fall. And the one with the dude falling on the car was enjoyable. Then the explosion effects on the near objects. The car physics when in motion...

well i watched a hl trailer where they had several things, one of which was an ingame movie were some kind of creature witha fan flew over the city and it threw up dust and made cables(electric) move
another bit had a code tester using a gravity gun to get his car back on the road
although the vehicle handling hasnt been much better (yet) than whats in bf the graphics are certainly much better

i know about dudes 'dying' realisticly and so forth, thats just not what i meant :p

Since Ut2003 we have rockets that affect smoke (when going trough). And plants affected by the wind or creature/ character movement it's done too.
Don't get me wrong, I love HL but you can't really say that it's better than Stalker. Anyway you can't say that till their release.

PS: In Stalker there are some some sort of haotic gravitational zones where objects behave stragely. With the physics it should look quite interesting

STALKER rocks , and HL rocks , but the way objects move , and stuff , stalker rules ,i mean in HL the only thing that moves are the players!!!

in far cry ( correct me if im wrong) but if u zoom with the sniper on the ground , you see ants and insects!!!

I have to disagree, the HL physics engine is very well integrated, but it has troubles with vehicle physics.
BlackWolf I couldn't really say if HL has physics better or worse than Stalker but if you'll look at the trailers from both game you'll see that Stalker's vehicles behave more realistic

And yes, birds and insects are a nice touch to FarCry but it can't compare with HL, Doom 3 or Stalker

Ive seens stalker and ive seem HL2. . . . and I still strongly stand with HL2. You guys gotta listen to my Black friend over here, he knows what he's talking about. No game can compare with hl2 not even doom3 although its going to be very good. HL2 has such great physics, watch all the vids. The AI is exraordinary!!! The little fx that they have EVERYWHERE is so eye catching. The guns the terrain, the grass, the character all have beautiful textures and models. Animation is fluent and the sounds.......the sounds couldn't be better. Even the story line ties in very nicely from the original.

In stalker.......I have a very strong feeling that it will only suit a small portion of gamers. The textures are uneven. At some parts in the level they will look totally amazing but at other parts they look as if they were 64x64. Physics are nice........they certainly dont come in the numbers they would in hl2 but there is physics. The models do not look as attractive as they should be, textures are just not right on them. Also the idea to the game is slow. By that I mean the pace of it, you trade (which is kind of a good idea) but that just makes you wait and hl2 is all about hard hitting action with stratagies. . . .the grass does not look appealing and maybe your right the vehicles are better but hl2 is not that much on vehicles but i do hope they improve it to its fullest.

Ok what did I miss. Well that is pretty much it, I dont want to explain it that much but when both games come out you'll know why me and black are totally for HL2. And dont even get me started with all the mods coming out for hl2, and the greatest of all CS: Source!!!

ya thats why it goes by preference. For the most part stalker's textures look amazing but their not always like that. For example the sleeves where hes holding the gun looks great but there are times when their shakey like......well ill look at the trailers and lets you know. And far cry is out of the question, it is a good game but isnt even in the same league as hl2 or stalker.

Fusion, maybe you remember the old Stalker trailers, in them there were problems with the character textures, no doubt. But they seem to be fixed now.

One thing that I saw in HL2 and I hope that's fixxed was gunfire light that vas visible on both sides of the near objects and looked like vetrtex lighting. I hope that's fixed too.

Anyway all the better for us if there are such great games to be released:D

no....you know condition zero? It is counter strike but to the next level. The engine is run on the begining hl2 engine and they made completely new maps. And the maps that they made were so good that I put them onto counter strike 1.6 so i could play them. Look good eh?
