I don't play games that much anymore but I just got Need For Speed Underground and I can't stop playing it.

It may be a dumb idea but whatever......so just post some in game screen shots of any game. Oh and try not to edit them in photoshop too much......I know it'll be tempting :D

it took me quite some work to get there...

what you see there is a fully tuned, level3 all-over car, with Wild side vynils, a wild hood vynil AND, the cherry on the cream, a Custom Wide Body Kit... top speed of 307km/h, that's where i got it at least

I had to unlock everything and win all 112 races to get there. NO CHEATS INVOLVED! lol

Command & Conquer is a pretty good game. I got to the level were you have to survive for 30min. I always got to the 5min mark and they'd always kill me......I got so pi$$ed that I ununstalled it and never played it again ;)

Im not too big on stratagy games. They're alright its just that it takes too long to finish one level. The only stratagies I like is Warcraft, Commandos (cause its real....and hard :) ) and Age of Methology. AoM is cool cause the effects couldn't be an more real (when meteors hit the earth!!)

I was wondering who uses manual shifting or auto?? I always use auto but im learning manual cause Ive heard if you use manual U go faster than you do with auto. But ive only heard....do you guys know for a fact?

with manual u choose when u shift

so when ur commign outta corners u can theoretically go faster because if ur reving low car = slower outta corners, but if ur reving high u will accelerate outta corners

So I take it you use manual. But you still don't always get a perfect shift (im talking underground here) and you have a greater chance of blowing your engine.....or is that only for drag?

ii have played underground once

but for any racing game, run the sh*t outta the engine, shift right before the red line, u wont wreck the engine.

dont just redline the car, and when u down shift do it low that way u dont break anything :D

i play manual anytime i play games.

u have more control if ur manual :)

Hey Fusion, i would strongly recommend Manual shifting, it's really a lot better...

and blowing up the engine.. that's just in drags to make it look more realistic.

In normal races, there's a little light on the speedometer, when it glows green it means that you gotta shift, so there you go.. easier shifting :D

actually I tryed manual earlier today......and i liked it much better than auto. There were some hard parts to it like remembering to switch but they work REALLY well on turns. c0nspires tips worked well........rev your engine going into the turn and blast the next gear as you finish the turn and you get quite an acceleration.

it epecially works well with those races were theres that turn at the end of the race were you ALWAYS smash into the wall.

one question relating performance of the game.......does the game ever lag in underground mode?? usually when im racing the game will really drag for like a couple of sec. and then goes back to normal.......ever happen to you?

the vegetation is the best i've ever seen in a computer game. :)
and yeah, there are lots of weapons..

some sub machine guns, rifles, a sniper rifle, grenades and even a rocket launcher-but not in the demo. :(

HOLY SH|T.......Far Cry is a sick game!!!

The gore, the realism, the weapons, the environment, the vehicles!!!! its amazing!!!

I couldn't enjoy it fully though:( im having some serious video card issues with my radeon 9800 XT. It laggs in the game like you've never seen:( i managed to see passed the slowness and see the great game but i wish I didn't have these video problems.

As fer the manual tranny question in Underground..

Definitely use the manual. I've always driven a manual. In fact, in the game it's actually beneficial to red-line the engine. When the green light glows, that's the "optimal" shift point, but i always overrev the engine. You get more power that way (in real life you lose horsepower at a point, but this is a game, so yeah...) anyway, i usually downshift 'til my engine is overrevved around corners, so i can take off after the turn better ('s hard to explain.)

Zergling: You your right.....I never knew how benificial it could be. I knever knew I could accelerate that fast out of a corner.....usually I hit brake or drift into a slide and lose a lot of speed, but when I rev my engine going into the corner I blast when I switch gears. Plus it enhances the effect of street racing :)

Rinne: Yeah it pretty sick!! The game really reminds me of that movie "The Beach" except you get to murder lots of people. Havent got to try it out too much due to my video card but currently my fav gun is the m4 :D

if you like far cry you should definetly download the research level.
But my fps is even lower with this level :( everything on lowest.

And TheOne you don't have to left click if you use the binoculars, and spot an enemy to display him on the radar. :D

but you need The Fort level, without it you can't play.
And uh there are some bugs like the grey spheres, maybe there is coming a fix for it.
Just visit the forum once in a while.

Tip: Put your settings on 800 x 600 and start the demo, then put it on a higher one like 1024x768 . The FPS won't change at all!

did u format when you put in ur 9800xt, its recommended. Or at least go a registry clean for the drivers.

EF: Well I was going to get the radeon 9800 pro when I went to get my upgrades but then I found out they just came out with a newer card called 9800 XT (not pro) so I went ahead and baught it because it was only like 15 dollarrs more than pro. So I bought it. Then when I ran some tests through Max I noticed there wasn't a significant change......for 700 I expect a huge change, wouldn't you? So I was P|ssed and just thought this is as good as it gets.....unfortunatly.......but as I went on I noticed games were slowing down (choppy). If far cry, a demo, ping pong, a simple internet game, and Underground are lagging then there is definatly a big problem. Now since its a new card they don't have any new drivers to fix bugs or anything like that. I can't email them cause they don't post a email address. So I have to call, wait 45 min. cause thell put me on hold and then I have to pay almost 2 dollars per min. for getting help :grr: ATI is such BS!!!!

If you have the money to buy a card, buy the Quatro 3000 by NVidia(sorry conna have to disagree with u c0nspire). Havent tried it but im sure it will be 100000000x better than whatever ati provides. I was readying some specs and it looks really reliable, of coarse it coming with quite a cost though. Then again the 9800 pro might be much better than the XT because its slightly older and they have fixed a lot of bugs.....probably.

Actually come to think of it my previous card geforce 4200 (128mb) was running better than what I have now, isn't that sad :cry:

I have aproximately 400 terms listed allready! It mostly consists of actual words or abreviations used but also includes some classic titles and characters. Naturally Monkey Island and Wolfenstein3D are also listed!

@ fusion:

The only signifigance upgrading from a 9800pro to a XT is that the XT is a directX 9 compliant card, I seriously doubt that Max takes advantage of any of those features (which are mainly used in games)

If you want good 3d performance you will probably want one of the Quatro or high end graphical design cards. I do not think that these will preform well in newer games though, as they probably dont have the latest features as the high end gaming cards, simply because 3d work does noty really need it. I may be wrong but i dont think that these cards have a lot of the new DX9 features.

You are probably having driver issues right now. I know several people who hav 9800XT's and are doing fine with them. Try d/l the lastest drivers from ati, go into safe mode, remove current ati drivers, reboot back into safe mode, reload new drivers, reboot and config your display settings. This could also be an issue with DX9, try reinstalling that.

Well it turns out that what you said to do, didn't work:( Im going to have to stick with a crappy video card for another couple of years:grr: and I can't return it cause I broke the return policy, so If it is the card and not the driver then Im screwed:xx:

I think if this keeps up, im going to have to sell my 4200 and radeon xt and buy the new quatro. Or I can go and overclock the radeon and force the sob to run smooth.

If you have shot 531 zombies your score should be 52569....
your avarage score per zombie is now 508.

I don't play 1.6, it does suck. I got cable so its not a problem for me but I've seen some really good ppl on a 56k. One guy got so good that you would shoot you in the head and be half way across the level after the lag cut through :D We got so p|ssed at him that we practically forced his ass to get cable:)

So basically the moral of the story is......lag earns you frags:) Ill post some more shots later, I tried to record some of my rounds on viedo but its in a .dem format and can't convert it so no can do:(

ok, I'm on level 2 on hitman.....the meat hook place:) Im trying to get perfect stealth but its hard even on level 2. Here's a pic for those of you who don't know what the game looks like. The whole level is like this......filled with horses chained to the roof, pigs heads sliced off, and of coarse cows slaughtered to the bone......and when I say bone.......i mean they hacked the poor animal until you can actually see the bone sticking out........:eek:.........i know ;)

actually I loved it, but I did find it too short, I beat it in 2 days. Helps I didn't pay for it though, friend installed it on my pc and gave me a no cd patch so I can play. I'm redoing levels quite often since they are so much fun.

What I liked most was in level 2 when I finally managed to get into "the building" without shooting anyone the chef came almost naked (I picked up his clothes) running in and alarmed everyone :P

Daniel : Looks like your using the hook murder method......by far my fav.......go behind him, stick a hook in his neck, and let him hand on your shoulders:) and I thought the piano wire was a cool kill:roll:

Speaking of glitches, throught all the hitman series that I baught, I have noticed many apon many of glitches. For example, in the first hitman were your in the level were you start out on the outside of this party and there are metal detectors. Well when I got in and went on a rampage, then after a while I saw this guy running around naked (boxers still on:) ) and in hitman 1 there were no anasthetics!! Explain that!!

In hitman 2, often in the cut scenes the z-buffer would cut in and there would be a huge hole in the characters face revealing his teeth. There were more as also in hitman 1 but I didn't write them down.......I should have and e-mailed eidos about the mistakes, stupid me :(

anyway, in hitman 3 im already noticing a lot. and its already the 3rd installment!!! In this pick you can see that the envelopes are STILL not tweaked perfectly. This is already the 3rd version and they still havent fixed it. I do have sympathy for the ppl working on the game because I know about the deadlines and they needed to release it on the due date.......unlike some ppl *cough* Valve *caugh* but still I think by the 3rd they would have done something about it :eek:

Well, here's a screen of the glitch. That is one jagged arm!!! Also in that same level (Syberia, with all the angry/evil russians :( ) you can see the snow blowing through the airplane at a certain angle, I'll get you a guys a post of that in a bit.

Im going to shut up now, but i only talk so much because I still do LOVE the game........it would be genious if the minor errors were fixed.

The 1st level is in Vienna right? With Don Gueseppi and the priest in the basemnt right? Well take a look at the very first cut scene, the one just before the level actually starts.......when 47 has his binoculars and looking around, do you see clippings as in you can see his teeth exposed when he zooms on the don?(swinging golf club)

That was one of the glitches I was talking about, but they might have cleared that up in later versions:dunno:

Got Silent Assassin in the 3rd mission!! I could have got it in the 2nd one but I was just shy of it because I triggered one too many alarms:( But I got proof of the S.A :)

BTW, for the ppl who do have hitman, you can see a glitch for yourself. Start running forward and then tap the strife left/right key rapidly and you should see something strange :)

Oh, and I deserve that Silent Assassin rank.......just look, I even leave the mission with class, still got the classic tux on before I leave:cool:

Are we still talkin hitman 1? I know you can use anathetics and tranqualizers and those forms of weapons but they didn't have that in hitman 1. You can only shoot to kill......and thats it. So when I went on a rampage shooting everyone in sight, I lost track of the ppl who died. And when I did that I took a lot of ppls clothes so the only explination would be a glitch. I shot him....took his clothes, and then he got up:lame:

Hehe, ya, its really tempting to just shoot everybody and get all red on 0 blue:) I usually do that at the start of a level just to scope it out. The bad part of going on rampage is that its so easy. In real life you would bearly get past the 2nd or 3rd guy!! Thats why I always aim for silent assassin, makes you think of stratagies and actually think rather than go buck wild on everybody's ass!! :D

I suck at sneaking that's why I always end with killing everyone :P.

For example that level with the restaurant I had no idea how to get in undetected (Warning Spoilers :P) so I just shot EVERY police out there because they got suspished and found the chef clothes and took them.
Then when I got into the kitchen that ober guy saw me and began shooting, after I killed him I went with my chef clothes still on bringing the poisoned food to the People I had to kill.
But they started to shoot so I shot them down :P.
Then I found at that you can mess with the fire pit(how is that called) in the basement.

I remember the restaurant mission. It didn't take me that long but I studied everybody's movements. What I did was when the level began I ran into the bathroom dropped my gun in there(they disarm you) then i jumped out the window and killed the guy in red(was on of the missons) so when I got back to the restaurant he disarmed me.......so i went to the bathroom, capped the police, the guy in grey, and the bartender. The only hard part was hiding the red guys body......Man I love hitman!!

It was much easier than the 2nd level......the one with the car bomb. I was using some CRAZY stratagies with getting the sniper and when the guy got out of the car i'd snipe him, and then take out all the guards with a pistol.....man it was hectic!!! And all I had to do was plant a car bomb.....but thats why I like the game, go have so many possibilities to do the missions.

Sneaking missions can get annying because you have ot keep doing it over and over but it makes you mind think. More games should be like it.

So ill show you guys some more glitches later......seems no one can explain the hitman 1 glirch so its added to my list. Im on the hunters mission right now......my god!!!.......there's no point in having a disguise, its like your waving a huge flag saging "Im a hitman coming to kill you and the ppl inside!!" :(

the hunter mission is easy, run out of the room very fast and go straight, when the swat come up the stairs you can sneak behind em and go down the stairs. Then drug that army guy, take his clothe and run out of the building. Kill who you gotta kill and leave.

wait......there are no swats there. Its the level were you have to kill 2 ppl, rescue some guy and escape. You start out on a waterside right beside a boat. Its the level with pure guys dressed with stripes(english guys), a hat, and 2 round shotties!!......you know the one after the meat hook level. You must have been mistaken.....I guess. But I always like a good challenge, I just don't like it when it get unrealistic......ah well:(

I have found a HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE bug in the last level.
Every time when I jump to the balcony the screen is getting all blurry or black so I have to change my view so I can see everything :(.

What I did in that level I disguised myself as a cop.



Tip for the restaurant level, go straight at the back of the map there you see the red guy taking a ****, just shoot him in the back and he falls straight into the sewers :D.

Zerg -- I have issues with playing gta3 or vice on comp.........thats why I play it on the PS2. Its much more easy to control everything. Did you beat vice yet? Notice how vice city is in every way shape and form like "Scarface" the movie:)
I got tired of black and white also in about 4 days. The pace was way too slow for me, but I still think a great deal of the game is well done.

Downup -- I didn't even know that game was out......were have I been?!?:) Is it any good? Im sure it beats cs by a long shot, even if it sux:D

Still on hitman 3. Im also still on that level with the english men. oh, what an amazing game......you'll LOVE it!!!

I beat the game but there are just some levels that are impossible. Like there will be a mission called "You Lucky B@stard" and its about how every time you try and wack this guy he always manages to stay alive. The level is so long and hard, I almost beat it but I died on the laststring of henchmen. So I had to use cheats:o Anyway, good luck with the game, hope you have better luck than i did:(
