I just realized that I was posting mech stuff in the organic model threads so here is so more concept art by Steve Chesworth of the female body that the arm is going to be attached to.

i think the arm goes pretty well with the rest with the body ,even though it's bigger tha it has too ,it's a part from the concept i think .btw nice modelling so far, love the details in the hand ,keep us updated

And Joe-Q thanks for the comment on the details in the hand, I hope to have the hand finished soon.
And [X]treme, your right it is one b1tch you wouldn't wanna mess with! :D
And g69, Steve will be happy to hear that everyone like the concept.

The head isn't attached yet so that why the neck looks wierd.
Mike, I think your right. I'll show you the model tonight in class and you can see if her thighs are too thin.
deejaysoup, now thats a nice progress...
my only critc is:
i dont think she might be having eye balls now...
but the think is... as from your renders it seems she
is cockeyed...or looking weird....
close renders of her face would had made it clear.
anyways ive been watching this thread from the beg.
and i think its going fine :)
keep us updated :D
Best of luck.

I don't like the way the head looks but hopefully I can fix it in the next couple days.
For now I'm just going to try and work on other parts of the body and try not to let my failure in making a head get to me.
I worked on the hand today and its almost done so let me know what you think.

nice modeling and verny nice concept
You have to make the eyesockets smaller or her eyes bigger, but with the last option u will get some sort of manga style
make sure the eyelids fall over teh eyeball :) rightnow she cant close het eyes:roll:
the model looks great and the face is really b-e-a-utiful *thumbs up*

everything looks real nice except for the hand. it looks waaay to big and out of proportion to the rest of the body, even if it is mechanical. also the thumb shouldnt be sticking straight out..unless she is maaaad double jointed. i am fortunate to be able to do that haha, but the rest of the human race proooobably isnt..
keep us posted ..

@Retinite: Thanx for the comments, I think you right about the eye sockets.
@neiy0: Your right about the hand, The hand is still to big so I work on that today and I'll fix the thumb.
here is where I'm at with the head.

What method did u used for the head? Box method or another one?
deejaysoup
09-03-2004, 06:25 AM
I used box modeling for the head and then I cut it in half and put on symmetry and then meshsmooth on top of the stack with isolines turned on.

there is something not quite right, but i cant figure it out.. the eyes look to bulgey (if thats a word)..

I luv ur concept. U r the first I have seen to actually model a person around an arm :).
I do agree with Lostfilez and Deejaysoup though - She looks starved. I think u need to be as generous with the thighs and ass as u did with the boobs....

i enjoy her bubble bum bum! i do think the eyes are a little odd, but better than i could do.

i really like the model but the hands look a little weird. At the top it looks a little boxie, you might want to round it off a bit.

Deejaysoup - you using nurbs for the head?

Ya. Im digging your character. Nice modeling.
I like the over sized Upper chest to, LOL. But for real it looks cool with your model. I tend to go big as well. Don't know why just do.
Looking forward to seeing her complete. Hope I can come back and ask ya for pointers. When the time comes.
What form of modeling do you use. Or is it a combination of different techniques. I didn't read all of the thread just incase you posted it earlier.

you using nurbs for the head?
Nope :D
I hate nurbs :grr:. I used box modeling with a meshsmooth of 2 and isolines are turned on.
I know this is going to upset some people but I just have to say it.
Nurbs are for Nerds
Polys are for Pimps

Keep up the good work.

her head is way to small for her body..and unless that is the style u are going for..the body seems to be pinched at the top and fatter at the bottom, the hands look kinda of deformed still..better..but still deformed..kinda of like they are over double jointed if u get me..the anatomy looks good though..
The head looks great. Perhaps you could make the hair closer to the years and maybe add a ponytail. That would look better I think.

Hey master soup, the head is looking a lot better but I'm going to complain about some things I notice anyway hehe
The side of the lips still look strange, I think they jut out too far.
These are some things I just notice, they might all be on purpose but just thought I'd bring your attention to them:
She doesn't seem to have a brow in the 3/4 view, and I personally think her head goes back too far from the ear but that might just be the hair. Also she doesn't have any definition on her jaw line.
Here are some pictures where I have defaced your model with bad sketches in a pathetic attempt to show you what I mean.
I really like how the model is coming along, should be your best model yet.

I'm not going to quit working on this model but I just thought you guys should know how I feel right now...and I'm sure you don't really care:(
Just kiddin', I know you guys care :) otherwise you wouldn't be reading this right now.
Okay now that I have that off my chest, back to the updates

@neiy0: I'm not really sure what style I'm supposed to be going for but I'll talk to Steve and see what he thinks. Also, I'll keep you updated on the hand.
@SNap007be: I'm not really sure what I'm going to do with hair but I do think a ponytail would look cool.
@Figbash: Thanks for defacing my model. The pictures helped a lot.
@Ninto: I'm planning on making some t-shirts with that phrase on it, so let me know if your interested in buying one.
@Corrado: I think I'm going to change the hair.
And Thanks Again to everybody that replied to my thread and the people who are just reading my thread and look at the not so pretty pictures.

Lofting the hair always seems to give really cool results. It would be an easy way to model the hair.
Keep up the good work.
