And the seat. I am going to model the entire interior of the cockpit. Plus working aeralons and flaps, and rudder, trim, and propeller, landing gear. I want to do my first animation with my Mabel character, and do some flight scenes, with lots of interior shots, and wing mounted camera shots. Comments and crits always welcome.

Control stick. This should be a challenge, there are all sorts of wires and button assemblies on the control stick.

Thanks Helix. I have a pdf of the original pilots and maintenance manuals, with loads of great pics. I also have about 300 color pictures of restored BF 109's from museums and stuff. I spent about a week researching and finding pics and technical data.

Looks good so far; I see a couple things that seem to need correction though.
First the nose cross-section doesnīt look good, too bulky, it needs more tappering on the top, Iīm including a gif that has some cross-sections that may be useful. Truth be told thatīs one of the worst blue prints I have of this plane, itīs too small; I have a set of drawings for the Bf-109G that would knock your socks off
Second, the control stick doesnīt look at all like the real thing, perhaps itīs still in a very early WIP state, but the hand-grip of this plane was quite ergonomical, it looked very modern compared to other planes of the era, almost like a modern joystick; I have some pictures and drawings of it if you want them I can e-mail them to you.

Know you're still working on it, just don't forget the button on the left side.
Looks excellent so far, and are u planning to mesh smooth the plane?

Thanks for the color info, I like it :) Now, how will you b "painting" it? Tropical or Sta.Kap, I like Sta.Kap better.

All I have to say is FATAL WHAT? F*** FORGOT TO SAVE!!!!!!!! Had the instrument panel almost done, and then......Max has encounter a problem and needs to close, the project you are working on may not be saved! Oh so frustrating, so remmeber people, save, save, save your work! I will post updates soon.

That sucks! I hate it when that happens (although I have never work on a project yet, it still sucks) I save after every "moderate" update, so I don't loose everything. Hope the controll panal comes out better for you.

Eira,
Yeah, I've lost a bit of stuff from max crashes too ;(. The thing I've learned to do is in the preferences menu goto the file tab and find the "Increment on save" box. Check it and then just control s periodically. It saves much time and does a nice organized file timeline in a folder ;) The only drawback is that it doesn't automatically rollover into the hundreds when you get into large amounts of saves but once you name it "something_100" It will keep going 101, 102, 103...
There is also that box in the save menu that is supposed to do the same thing, in my experience I have found it to be buggy in R5 and below. Not sure about 6. It corrupted my files ;( I can't recommend it but the method above works great.

I also wanted to add that your model is turning out quite excellent from what I can see. I've wanted to do a ME-109 for quite some time. I'm starting a P-51 today, in fact. What is your method of working for a project as complicated as this? More specifically, because of the complexitity of the scene how do you plan for materials and textures? Do you plan it all out or along the way? Or do you go back when your all done modleing and assign textures or MatIDs and such? This I have not quite mastered within the Max Mat Editor. I've tried using one or several Multi-subobject materials but still they can get quite large and difficult to work with IMO. What do you or anyone else think?
I'm just wondering how your going to handle texturing with such a complex model. ;) Again great model, love the planes.
