You can try to apply an Bezier Float to the percent controller. Then you will get the Tangents you are used to.
For best control, apply the modifier "Normalize spl" to the path. Turn of constant velocity.
Now you can animate the the percentage along path, and you can choose an Ease Inn tangent in the end.
Good Luck! :)
I have no idea where teh Bezier Float and the percent controller is...
I found Normalize spl though.. but it doesnt help as far as I got :)

To make the object follow the path, I guess you did it in the Motion Panel (the wheel icon).
Under Assign Controller, the Position Controller show Position: Path Costraint.
Klick on the + in front of Position, and you will see the Precent: Linear Floar.
Select it and klick the Assign Controller icon (square with a ? inside)
Choose Beziere Float, and now you can adjust your keyframe tangents.
I hope this will help! :)
hmm. I think I found it.. but another problem occured.
am I at the right place?

You don't have a position key at the frame your at. Under "Create Key", click the "position" button, and then you will get the Key info.
thanx a lot, I think its ok now :)
