10-03-2004, 02:37 PM
i had the same with max :)....
10-03-2004, 04:55 PM
this is a nice model of a Skyline, i'm definetly watchin this one....makes me drool already, can't wait to see it textured
10-03-2004, 05:23 PM
wow amazing clean lines, care to explain how u got that in max? splines?
10-03-2004, 06:01 PM
wow, cool:) looking forward for this:D .
11-03-2004, 02:29 AM
great work there, I see a nice and clean mesh :)
definately following this one :)
11-03-2004, 02:55 AM
Wow, great work, can you tell us how you create such sharp edges?:???:
legato man, this is damn neat!!!
this is the first time i had a chance
to see ur work....its amazing!
keep it up man!
and show us some more! :D
11-03-2004, 04:35 PM
very awsome nice and clean :D, looks like you just used crease in the meshsmooth option?? looks to sharp for a camfer :D awsome cant wait to see more :)
12-03-2004, 12:04 AM
thanks for the comments guys
BlackWolf : yes i use splines
Ninto & R2Wrace2win : i use nurms with the rule of 3 applied (3 edges to make a sharp edge..the closer they are together, the sharper edge u get), i also use some chamfers here and there but not the crease in meshsmooth...i get more control of the mesh with the rule of 3...
ok small update...rendered the tire quickly...the rest of the body is , well...very "rich" in polys so render takes quite some time....so i may have to revise the mesh for a but...
12-03-2004, 05:35 AM
Thats the madest skyline i've ever seen, its so wide it makes the car look as short as a mini cooper!!!!
Very nice model keep it going.
12-03-2004, 01:41 PM
update..added details to the exterior...moving on to the interior
12-03-2004, 01:45 PM
12-03-2004, 03:17 PM
Awsome detial is great :D
Wheels look really good also :D
15-03-2004, 06:02 PM
ok update...interior is done  .... followed the tamiya assembly sheet for the interior so its not very accurate but close enough i guess... next up mats and textures (decals)...let me know what u think
15-03-2004, 07:48 PM
so neat and nice detail, very "anggun" I must say:) , I looking forward for the textured version, what renderer did you use?
15-03-2004, 09:37 PM
Great work, can't wait to see the next step
i really love your model...
i dont know, does skyline have tht sharp edges?
or you modeling 1 with kits and all?
Keep it up man..
cant wait to see it textured :D
16-03-2004, 12:46 AM
Androgs: terima kasih!! :D
Mystikos: thanks man
g69: thanks for the comment dude...im modelling the 2003 JGTC Calsonic Nissan Skyline so thats all the kits....(too bad Calsonic going to use the Z for this yr's JGTC..skylines are such good cars despite of their heavy body)
anyhow..i was looking for refs for the decals...found most of the but i cant seem to make out the decals on the tail wing's side panel...if anyone could at least tell me what it says i'd be greatfull
17-03-2004, 01:38 PM
dude... how'd you model the body? you find any tuts on NURBS in max?
whenever i try to use NURBS in max it gets me hot and bothered and i usually end up playing Quake 3...
18-03-2004, 12:14 PM
i poly model the body...no nurbs man...yeah it gets me down too so i tend to stick to poly modelling...
anyhow..tiny tiny update....finally got all the decals "decently" done...heres the tire
19-03-2004, 09:14 PM
ok guys...this is the final textured version..hope u like it...CnC are always welcome
19-03-2004, 11:14 PM
very grat work. i really like it. but i think the tires have to reflect a liitle more!
20-03-2004, 02:15 AM
Extremely well done ..
20-03-2004, 02:22 AM
In the top 10 models i've seen, done well that lad!!!!
The model is amazing, the textures seem acurate and realistic but i think the car paint ruins it..............makes it look like coloured plastic
20-03-2004, 02:24 AM
very very nice model man, nice going,...
REALLY REALLY GR8 JOB Legato...
yeah agree the paint looks kinda plastic...
but the textures look amazing man...
really really like it, i wish i had one ;)
ur work really rocks, keep it up!
20-03-2004, 02:31 AM
just noticed the last 'c' of calsonic on the side. Is it sposed to wrap into the filler cap?
20-03-2004, 02:47 AM
Awsome model!!! :) but the paint is really letting it down :( Its way to plastic looking. But great modeling.
Can you please post some wires, Im very interested in seeing your method of modeling, is it poly modeled with meshsmooth?
20-03-2004, 12:48 PM
thanks for comments and compliments guys...looks like the long hours paid off...
: about the car paint...i guess its too reflective dont u say?...have to lower it a bit...
3Dway'OLife : the C is not supposed to do that .. from the tamiya ref i have the C should be clearly a C from the view i rendered....im still figuring out how to texture that without messing up the rear bumper since its one panel with the rear fender
TigerDog: yes its poly modeled with meshsmooth
heres some quick renders of the wire (sorry for the big post :) )
20-03-2004, 02:55 PM
Thanks for the wires they look great but they have confused me a bit, lol. With your car paint you should adding a fresnal falloff map to the reflective slot, and maybe a falloff map to the diffuse slot with the blue color you want and a darker blue as the car gets further away. Hope that made sense. Anyway It really is a great model.
20-03-2004, 06:33 PM
i do have what u say in the mat for the paint but i bumped up the IOR to 2.5 ... i guess i just have to play with that.. to get the reflections down a notch..ill post some more renders soon
21-03-2004, 04:21 PM
Aye legato ya car's lookin sweet, i need to know where i can get that texture ya use which traces the edges with black.. or if you can send to me? pm me if ya can mate... :D
21-03-2004, 07:07 PM
its a free procedural texture called Edgemap...u can get it at maxplugins.de
22-03-2004, 04:22 AM

23-03-2004, 01:04 PM

23-03-2004, 03:05 PM

26-03-2004, 10:05 AM
