I have started this car few days ago. 13 hours of work so far.
There are no blueprints for the car so I have built it from pictures.
Coments and crits are welcome as always. :p
so here are two renders:

wow dude, very clean mesh. loving it. want to see some ups there.
btw I´m doing this project with a friend that I met in the forums, we want to make this car animation with fast and the furious like cars. It´s been like a month and he is already texturing his Toyota Supra(looking great btw) I was tunning a Peugeot 206 but I lost the file, danm it. So start it this car, an audi A2, not exactly what people would chose to be tunned up, but I was did the oposite way, hehe.
so I hope to finish mine, already tried some rigging for the car, like assign dummys to the rotations of whels and stuff. We did some sketches of a storyboard and it will definetely look great,
loads of nurning ups,
just wanted to share this and maybe encourage more people to take part in projects like this, it´s fun, everybody learns and in the end you will get nice results. I´m thinking about putting up a homepage to show the progress of things so far.
see ya
sorry pavel for using your post to say this.

I use technique that takes a lot of time to model a wheel but you can model difficult shapes that look very good. There was a tutorial on turbosquid.com that use the same technique. You can search for it.
Here is update:

Very Nice Bro.
Could i ask what your Environment settings are????
Did you use lightboxes for those reflections on the rims etc?
Pavel
26-03-2004, 10:00 AM
Honki: There is a plane above the car. The material for it is:
Standart max material , 100% self illuminating - for the scanline renderer
And Brazil utility if using Brazil r/s
Then you click with the right button on the plane and go to properties .. remove the tick from `cast shadows`
:p

wow...that looks very thight.
Nice modelling and renders...I can only suggest one thing:
the grey surrounding from the holes in the front (by the grills) will look better if they are also chrome IMO.

This is the car I want to get, anyway to get a 1280 x 1024 shot without the body kit? Like a stock version of the car so I can use it as my wallpaper?
