I am a recruiter in the UK and I specialise in CGI Art for Games, Film and TV. I currently have positions for a number of companies from Scene artists to Art Directors. I am however having difficulty sourcing good quality Artists who are based in the UK.
I would really like to hear back from you if your currently looking for work or are due to soon finish a contract. Also if you know anyone that is in the same boat please do forward my contact details on to them.
The main skills I am currently recruiting for are MAYA, 3DS MAX, LIGHTWAVE and a Little XSI. Also I am always interested in good texture Artists.

If you don't have the above skills then a number of my companies will cross train you on to their packages. So please do apply.

All applications will receive a reply from me if they are based in the UK and have professional experience. I am always interested in talented Grads or MOD designers as long as you send examples in with you application (animators please send in AVI's under 4MG).

I am looking forward to hearing from you shortly.

My contact details are as follows

just thought it might be a good idea for you to get in contact with the university I go too... there are degrees for many different aspects of CG ... including games design and animation.. and never a shortage of people seeking post grad work or, if needed students looking for a company for a placement year...

I'm in the middle of a year out at the moment.. working on my portfolio before returning for my final year... there are quite a few talented people being produced :) oh yeah the name would be usefull :) hehe here's a link to their site.. I'm sure you'll be able to find someone to contact in the computing an mathematics school... the head of visualisation would be a good first port of call... http://www.tees.ac.uk hope that helps!

aye Teesside university is a good place to start, that’s where I'm from, I too am taking my placement year at the moment but I am not working for a company, me and a few mates have set up our own freelance cg business and the uni has been very helpful so if you have any free lance work or work etc etc available we would be intersted.

p.s Ragner, where did you get your placement? whats your name?

I would be very interested in a full time CG position, but I am not qualified in any way for these positions. I have been using 3DS max for about five years now and I think that my work is now coming out at a pretty professional standard, but I kinda lack the confidence to put myself out there. At the moment I manage an artwork department for a label printing company but am seriously considering a change of direction. Would people like me (un-qualified people) be considered for these roles or do I need to start thinking about getting some qualifications to prove what I can create. Any feedback would be welcome.

I do get a number of people with out experience jobs it all depends on the quality of your work at the end of the day. No company is going to turndown someone really talented. The only problem is whether they an afford to take you at the time!
Do send me some artwork and I'll see what I can do!

Sorry to bring an old topic up but I was wondering if you were looking for low poly or high poly modelars? Or both. I may be moving to the uk...worcester....near end of the year if my money problems go away. And I was wondering exactly what type of work you are looking for.

Sorry no freelancers its not an area that I do. In regards to low poly work I'm always on the look out. I cant say what I'll need at the end of the year but it is definatly worth keeping in touch.

Hi Ben,

I am 3D Artist currently contracted at a games company to which the project is coming to a end so I have about a month left. At the moment I have nothing lined up after this so I would be looking for work in the same type of field. I am working with Max and Maya as well as photoshop. I will be looking for work around the London or South East Area so if you have anything avaliable around there then i would be interested.

Hi,

I'm not UK based, but I am looking for an internship in the UK, perhaps would you know some companies that are looking for an intern?
