nice...i really like it....

which renderer do u use?

geoMan

somethings i just noted...

the stairs u have modelled a too small....if u are going case sensitive witht he reference.....and, i wud suggest not to use area shadows at this point but to have the light is such a gradient that it gives long, spreading shadows....

there is a bit of bump and scratch on the wall...if u want to have a bump map for that....it wont be that good...i wud like that to be modelled....

its going pretty cool.....i just cant wait to see how u paint the floor texture!

see ya !

Thanx alot every1.... spc. you, geoman for such a nice feedback..
i am using vRay, and as i said the shadows werent final,
plus me aint modeling the scene 100% as inn the reference
the aim is the GI and light...

well, i am almost done with the textures...
and i was lookin for some nice building bg...
cant find 1 :( - any1 any idea?

i was thinking if i dont find any ill model it :|

Chris-3DT: thanx watching my post and commenting, yup... this pic sure is cool! i love it myself! thts the main reason i chose this to be a reference...

just wanted to see how the building would look in the actual scene...

please note: i need to adjust the light for the building.... plus need to adjust the shadow samples (kept for fast render time)...

C&C welcome

Wow! It's very close to the original picture. I love the buildings you made for the background.

I guess you're going to add some specularity to the floor texture?

I hope you dont mind me drawing on your pic but theres only one thing I found that I dont like...and maybe you did this on purpose But I dont know...I circled everything in red what Im talking about...if you look at the refernce on the left the portion I circled in red doesnt look like the portion I circled on your actual model. The black square is how it should be on your left side only better in detail...lol ;) Now Im not saying you Have to make that space...just a suggestion if you are wanting to make your model just like the refernce.

thanx for such a nice feedback Bullethead :)
i know that my modeling doesnt match the photo...
but thats not what i was aiming for... its a pure GI Scene (lights & shadows)

anyways: i rendered 2 scenes... one is grey and other is color
lemme know which one do you folks like better?
i prefer the grey better :)

:) looks very good to me, you really have an eye for setting a realistic scene, maybe you can think to build a bit more complex scene? that would be very nice;) .

geoMan
27-03-2004, 08:07 PM
the textures, as i can see are coming out nicely....
the scene has got highly bright from some parts and highly dark from some others....moreover.....the bump of the wall...thats too big man...

anyways....this is coming out very well.....i wud have suggested not to model a big whole building for it...could have modelled the only part that was to be in the window...anyways....

Happy modelling?

*aug man i have got a crap in my hand...:(*

Androgs: Thanx alot man, "...you really have an eye for setting a realistic scene..." - now tht was a complement :D i promise you... the next scene i do, is gonna be more complex! :)

geoMan: Thanx yaar... yup i know, the bump looks odd...will fix it soon. The building you see back there took me only 15 mins to model, not a deal! :)

Chris-3DT: thanx chris... i know the chair need a bit of more attention ill fix her up soon :)

Both versions (color/grey) look very nice, but the color one has more warmth. I think I prefer that one. The only crit I can add is that the background building has pretty high contrast areas and the eye is drawn there. So, if you want the viewer to focus on the indoor scene and lighting, you might want to make the background stand out a little less. Maybe make the windows we're looking through a little dirty, make the background more washed out/desaturated, etc.

All in all, the scene is very nice. :)

Nice work mate,

just one thing...it looks very grainy...is that the intent? or is just my monitor?

ohhh and loose the glare....I like the "non-lense flare" one better.

8-)

Thats amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! great work, whats the renderer?

My only comment is the building in the background isn't bleached out enough.

Maybe put in some subtle volumetric fog

Great work!!!!!

nice image, the only crit i have is if u see where your lens flare / sun is coming from, the shadows that are coming through are at a much steeper angle

g69
02-05-2004, 08:55 AM
sjoerd: Thanx alot man, it still needs hell loadsa improvements...ill start workin on it soon (hopefully)

3Dway'OLife: Thanx, and yup i know the building looks dark...i will be adding doors and windows to it... and some random objects. The render is vRay.

saRn: Hey man, thanx for the tip. well actually the lensflare was done in PS and was just a test.
ill fix it up if i like it in the final render.

Hope i get some time off my college so that i can work more on 3D :(
