texture those chrome parts properly with raytrace reflections and it will be much nicer.

I think thay are reflecting too much, try a little bit less.

The model looks really good!!

Try this:
Change diffuse color to black, on the reflection slot select Raytrace. This will make more realistic chrome (even if it's a toy).

try and blur the reflection a bit ... maybe it would help bring out the stainless metal effect or reduce the reflection value juuuussssttt a wee bit :)

A reflective material is really nice to look at if there is an environment reflecting on in ... so it would be safe to say that you need to put your model into somekind of an environment.

For example, like the front grill of your rig - it's reflecting the black void of your background so it looks black too. just my observation :)

I will be setting up some environment stuff after adding some more details with the truck, i'm planning to put some payload items on it, like a bundle of timber. thanks anyway.

its really nice big truck. I like the reflection.

Just a suggestion. put some design on the hood so that it wont look a bit empty.
