View Full Version : The New Smurfs
Hi guys and gals,
A mate of mine in the UK and I are doing a little project. The smurfs (New age).
Cartoon style but with new smurfs. The first smurf designed is Pimp Smurf. The plan is to do a little animation having these new smurfs doing their thing.
The smurf is rigged and was doing by Ronnie. The house is done by me. Very early stages but I would like your input.
Excuse the image quality I have stuffed up my settings and I am trying to get them right again.

this sure is gonna be somthing.... love it so far...
just a little critics on the smurfs: the spheres, which i think are meant to be the rings... could be made a bit more realistic, and the shoes could have some more details to it...
i love the project you folks are working on!
Keep it up man, looking forward to see it done!
Ronnie has done a WIP smurfette....some changes required...but I thought I would post her anyway....

hey, those are excellent, they look really cute.
The only thing I'd say is that I don't like the mexican like hat of the first one....
Wanna see all of them ;)
and the village takes shape....

Wanna see all of them ;) Its a pimp hat...geesh havent you seen a pic of a pimp with the cat skinned hats...rotflol....I love this scene so far...I cant find one thing I really dont like...keep up the good work.

Thanks for the comments guys..... this little project gives me something to do now I have my foot in cast. I hate being a cripple!!!!
g69 :: My hope is to place the images and animations on a web site in the future....Will be sure to post the link. Also thanks for the comments aboutthe rings etc but I am trying to stay away from realism a little and trying to make it look like a cartoon. Will keep it in mind though if the animatins look a little dicky.
Will hopefully have the village plan layed out today ..... The first scene is a flydown through the village to one of the houses. ight try a test render tonight without all the extra smurfs walking around......etc
just cant wait to see it happen!!! :D

Hahahaha!! You should make the Pimp Smurf....the PImp Daddy Smurf. Smurfette could be one a his ho's
Another view......still need to add alot....but its coming along. Please excuse the lighting but I didnt have time to wait for a good render.

the only thing I would change would be teh Fluorescent green....
but the rest looks awesome

I used to be a big smurf fan, used to get up every Saturday morning to watch them. What ever happen to Saturday Morning cartoons anyways.
Your scene is really starting to look alive. I like it. My only crit would be to make the smurfs feet alittle rounder on the tops.
Pimp smurf. thats classic.
You should make a crack head smurf! Im serious that would be great.
I love how you textured the yellow roads. :D
Keep up the great work. Looking forward to seeing the whole theme done.

Cryenn : Cool...thanks for the comments mate......The idea is to get a few New Smurfs and I think drugie smurf was one of them.
Nico3d : I have darkened the green and retextured the path giving it a little dirt. Fixed the village edge as well.....Thanks for the crit mate.
I have done a few flyby animations and there is a small 3 second walk cycle for pimp surf. when I get the smoke and wind and stuff wrking right i will post the flyin scene.

Nice scene,
I would rotate the trees so they look more different.
