its fairly low poly (as you can see at the archs) but it will be only in the back :)
maybe ill put some stalls were the people can buy there food ...
the two walls in the middle are supossed to be a canal were later on a small river will flow...

is it for a game your are working on? If it's for a game the low poly are fine...
but if you it not, I would definitely add more and more detail to everything, you have a great great chance to do and amazing still of the middle ages !

I guess you misunderstood what I meant...

He mentioned the term "ROMANESQUE" in one of his posts..

The romanesque period in architecture goes from the pre romanesque...around 600-700 to pure romanesque architecture around the of 1100 when gothic starts to appear with the apse of the St.Dennis cathedral........ That's the middle age ;)

but of course, the roman empire falls in 476 with the barbaric invansions coming from the east.....

The Western Roman Empire didn't emmediately fell in the year 476......it slowly fell in the couple af years around that period of time, and it was not destoyed by barbarians from the east... but by barbarians from the north......but the eastern roman empire continued to exist untill about 15th century.

Ill add more details soon...
The eastroman empire was defeated 1453 as the osmans captured constantinople (or how it is written in english ^^) but at this time it was no longer an empire as there was only the town left of this once mighty empire.
the irony is that the canons the osmans used to destroy the walls of constantinople were build by an hungarian who wanted to sell them to the byzantines but they denied, so he selled them to the osmans...
btw sorry for my crappy english ^^

Xullion, of course that's how it happened. I was not going to start a historical study talk here, I just wanted to be very very brief...
It is obvious nothing in History happens one day and the next, everything is different !!!

hahaha, we could now start an off-topic discussion on history ;)

little update, I modeled 2 columns the right is a greek pillar with 24 canna (the notches in the pillar) I donīt know the english expression for that so i used the latin one I hope someone else could give me the correct english word for that.
and the pillar on the left side is a mixture of a roman and egypt column with 20 canna...

very nice, I agree with that.
I do like the small peeps too, but they all seem to be standing there, just standing. Let them move, walk, talk to each other. That 's be better I think
But that's imo

The english word is 'cannelures'.

The number of cannelures depends on the type of capital.

For the Ionic order it's 24 and for the Doric and Corinthian order it's 20 cannelures. :)
