i think you need to work on proportions a lot,
it loosk like your suffereing from 'wana make biiiiiiiiiiiiig tits syndrome'
it think start out from a cube block out the shape , and then cut detail in.
good start tho , and you have made a clean mesh

wow, that is one fat *****. don't usually see people model that women with such...."generous" proportions.
Anyway, I am also a novice, but I suggest adjusting the vertices on the thigh so that they form contour lines that are more accurate. also if the breasts are going to be that large they can't be perky too...they need to droop.
but your modelling does look pretty "clean" which is a good thing

I would have covered up the naughty bits before posting that ref pic myself. I recall some mod reminding us that children read these forums
I think this particular model will definitely look better with clothes, rather than naked :D

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe vertigo. Works with a dense mesh when he has to. Otherwise he probably works with his low res mesh, then bumps it up a iteration or 2 when he renders it out.
But then again I've never had modeld a mesh as detailed as Vertigo. Which I must say has inspired me to try and tackle after this one.
Sometimes I'll move verts around in a high res only cause the mesh tend to shrink sometimes.
It might start getting hard to work with a dense mesh unless your computer is a behemoth.:D
I actually use a combination of a few modeling tips.
I'm not saying there the best way. But I could post a few pics of my current model to maybe help ya Nappa.
Please forgive me for posting pics all over your thread.
But I'm only doing it cause maybe it might help.
Besides you really helped me alot on my current model.

so one or tow things...
First try to look at some ref pics or to even use them as ref on your 3D package and also try to get the less weird faces you can ;By that I mean faces that ar not quad 'cause that's what screw up the smooth !
Good continuation !

Ok I kinda use 2 methods I learned.
I usually start from the leg then up to the chest. I picked up this habit from the Joan Of arc tutorial.
But I also start with a 8 side cylinder, Which I picked up from Paul Steeds method. Then I start expanding verts were I feel they form the leg, I rotate some verts as well up the leg.
This is its low res form, I usually bump it up one iteration with mesh smooth. But I always keep my low res form throughout the whole modeling process.

Ok I also use a symetry modifier when I need to connect the two halfs, I connect the two haves using the joan of arc methos of extruding Edges at the base of the ****** after I collapse the mesh, Then connect them to form the ******. By converting my poly into a mesh. Its easier for me to weld verts in mesh form them poly form. But after I connect them I usualy convert the geometry back to a polys.
I seem to always work from converting from mesh to poly , from poly to mesh vise versa.
After I have a good seem down the middle I delete the other half again.

Now that I have a good seem down the middle, Ill convert it in a mesh form and extrude the edge to fill the missing faces to complete the bottom of the torso, and then weld it.
Now I can eith work form poly or mesh By grabbing the edge in mesh form or the border in poly form add SHIFT DRAG the edges all the way up to the neck, But also forming the verts to fit around the form of the body.
Now the mesh looks biggier then the ref, but after 1 meshsmooth it usually fits nicely along the edges of the ref. If they don't thats when I work with the high res mesh and pull verts to fits it along the edges.

Ok. Im not saying this is a good way to model butts & breasts. But they have seem to work for me.
When it comes time to model the butt. I usually delete one have of my mesh.
And then place an OCTO GEOSPHERE right onto the mesh and align it with the ref picture.
I then actually boolean the geoshere onto the legs and then clean it up by collapsing the mesh and deleteing faces inside the mesh and welding verts on the outside. It can be time consuming but I was happy with the results.
I picked up that way of building butts and boobs from Paul Steed. Or at least with the current model Im doing I used those tips.
After you have it cleaned up and attached well , just symetry modifere it and you should get a pretty good lookng butt.
Works the same with boobs:p
Well At least for me it did.
Ok! Ok! I'll stop posting all over your thread. But let me know if you want me to post other pics if they help ya Nappa.
Like I said you helped me along with some good ideas for this model. And if I can help any other 3d modeler along the way , I'll be glad to. Im also still new and love to be able to learn from other 3d artist as well.

I actually made her butt bigger then the ref showed. Otherwise it came out looking alittle flat. Then tweeked out the verts to make it fit and form better. this post here was before the tweeking near the bottom, were the butt curves.
Sorry was supposed to post this pic before the other one.

I think you need to cut some more edges for the torso. It looks like its only 6 sided

Could you provide a direct link to that tutorial? I cant find it from that link you gave. The reason being is that (if this is what the tutorial produces) I would recommend you do the head part of the Joan of Arc tutorial instead. This head has no eyelids and the nose has detail missing. The overall shape of the head is kinda weird too.

what the ..:grr: .. are you talking about
The hand looks quite good, all it needs is two cuts, I'd say, and some tweaking and cleaning up. I painted the basic cuts without tweaking on your pic. just as a basic idea. (not taken from any tut or something, just my own idea. if it's a stupid one, hopefully others will tell you so ;) )
And the base of the fingers need some more work. Always look at your hand, in this case you are your best reference.
