This is a new character that I've been working on, going for a toon look, like a character from the musical Cats, I'm thinking about making several other "cats".
I couldn't wait to rig him before the textureing was done.
Need to adjust the textures on the head some more, like he has white on the nose underneath it.
I got several questions, should I put claws on his feet or leave them the way they are?
Right now he has glowes with cutoff fingers, should it be a full glowe and should they be white? and put claws on them , or leave them the way they are? ;)

aww how cute!!! i would give it some patches of white fur tho maybe on the tummy, i know the lighting is dark, but the spots sort of blend in with the fur color.:D

nice character... i dunno the musical cats but are you planning to make the feet more resemble a feet cat?
about the claws i wouldn't put it... at least not when unnecessary... make it but keep it hide... when necessary, reveal it..
keep it up

Thanks:)
Not much of an update, too busy:( ;)
Worked some more on the textures, I don't think I'm going to make the feet more cat like, at least not the shape, maybe texture it different, it is supposed to be a guy in a cat costume, so he would have human looking feet I guess;) I may put fake claws on his glowes?

about the texture... i prefer the first one (with the white circle on the eyes)... but the white belly is great... make a mix.... :D

rubberduck, I dont think the texture looks very cat like, though I do like the white belly on your new texture. I think it should be larger spots like on a leopard. heres a couple photos (google image search: leopard)

hey, Rubberduck... great character to u have there (again)... the only thin i would like you to change are the feet. you should make toes or at leest on the top and in front of the shoes (if you know what i want to say.... the bottom of shoe should be flat).
Keep us updated....:D

Thanks guys:)
Changed the textures and made him toes
Olympus: Thanks for the ref images, I wasn't going to make him look like a leopard(just a domestic looking cat), but why not;)
Ok, claws or no claws?
Unless someone has any other C&C's, I'm going to post him in the finished section or put him on hold if I'm going to make him some cat friends, getting a little tired of this one and might start something new:)

haha, cool I like it. Very cute and funny.
It has become very good so far... I like it. But I'd change the area around the eyes... the white area is far to large and should fade into the normal fur softly. I'd also remove the eyebrows completly... they look wired. All the rest is just fine!

The fur (not including spots) looks a little dark and perhaps the spots shoud be larger and farther apart. Anyway though it looks good :).

I like the very first "texturing," with the basic spots, the best of the spot designs, although the white patches and various other developments are good too. (Maybe it is the simplicity, or lack of clutter, in the design of the very first that is more pleasing to my eye.) Can you post it with the basic spots again with the white patches?
edit: Although, I am still not sure that the head has found it niche of texture yet, and I think the ears may need a little bit of variety to show that they have an interior, maybe white patches?

Thanks guys for the C&C's:)
Small update on the textures, I think I like these textures and they may be the final ones;)
LittleFish: I did try a render with the basic spots with the white patches, but didn't like it, so I not going to post it;) sorry
I did texture the inside of the ears though, like you suggested.

man u are crankin out models like no ones business, can u send me a pm on how you do texturing, do u use 3dmax? i dont understand how to use a UVW unwrap, or anything like that, i know UV map, and what not, but if u could do that, that'd be awsome
thanks duck...looks awsome, as always:)
Now the texture is as good as it needs to be. I like the latest update! I'd keep it this way too!

kribz: I didn't think about that character when I made him;)
I used to read those comics, I think I've read them all

I just wanna comment on the texture. If you look closer you will notice that leapard "spots" are not really spots, they are actually circles/semi circles, and the leopard itself is a very faint orange/yellow. Most of the orange colouring is inside theses circles. At a glance these all look like spots.
How do you tell a jaguar from a leopard using the skin? Well a jaguar has the same circular pattern, but unlike the leopard you will notice that jaguar circles have spots inside the cirlces. If a leopard has any spots they are all on the outside. I hope this will help you with the texture.
As crit I think your cute little guy is too orange and the "spots" are too crowded.

hehe..ok, i definately didnīt suggest u made a rippoff, i just saw the similarity, and i think thats itīs the guy in the red outfit whos name is spirou, the freaky animalīs name i think i Marsupilami...but i guess we spoke enough about this right about now, iīm much interested in seeing how your character is developing....

the eye texture looks almost too real to be cartoony. other than that this stuff is pretty good!
