mishapen brow
too pointy chin
nose to pointy
textures ripped from 3d.sk photos maybe try painting some of your own? . its a bit over used now that model
seems like you modeled it then softselection mishaped a few bits to make it more unique.

thanks for the crits, but i cant do anything at this stage. of course i used photos, as steven stahlberg pointed out to me, its ok to use photos for textures.
in fact, his actual words "I love photos for this reason, it's just totally impossible to paint the same level of detail and realism"
hmmm, heres more closeups.

hey neiy0 yeah i did model it myself.
i usually post over at spiraloid => http://cube.phlatt.net/forums/spiraloid/viewtopic.php?TopicID=890

yeh you do.

lips are too hard/.defined . should run smoothly into them
bump is too high , maybe thats the lighting.
yes steven has pointed out that photo that photo textures can be good to mix with your painted. but i think you could be more original with your choice of which ones you use.
you got the topology pretty good - spiraloid does that to you ;) . the corner of the mouth and the topology around the cheek to chin section could use some work . also the ear could.
spiraloid went completely downhill, it used to be a resourse or an inspiration . when all the work posted there was of fntasitc standar , now its turning into just a #cgtalk or somewhere full of kids and beginers . so its just rubbish to look through . til you see gabe or logan in the title.

well ur certainly a happy character cgstripe haha ;)

ur modelling looks nice, but i would have to agree with cgstripe on the fact that the lips are to defined from the skin, perhaps you can blur the definition line in photoshop or something, if u want to keep the same textures..

thanks guys
i guess im stopping this one. i do agree with your crits 100% but ive been laid down with lots of accouting homework which i neglected over the holidays. i also feel bored with this one, im starting a new project.
btw i did start out with the intention of handpainting, but since its my first try, lack of experience prevented me from finishing.
anyway next time ill try. it helps to think about it... (texturing)
i agree that spiraloid is going down, mainly because the rules are ignored. its not a forum for gettting lots of responses from your work. its the best forum out there, in term of learning and resources.
but i believe if more strict moderation is held then the forum will be back to normal.
thanks for the crits on the topology. sure its not perfect, but not a single tri on the mesh...

yes i agree- no tris is good :) well done,
spiraloid went downhill becuase of people blatently ignorign the rules
*points in no particular direction* :ufo:
and full of irrelevant fanboy no usefull information posts. ppl doing this set a bad example which was followed.
thankfully you have learnt now ,. starting to create some decent artwork - harlquin etc. which is a lot better. i belive i commented on it.
now you obey and profess the rules over there maybe it will pick up , i think its a bad idea posting so much on spira though , its not such a get crit forum. more of a discussion place.
well anyway. id like to see more work from you in teh same vein as the well moddeld/sculted characters. good luck.
