I've been using maya for around 3/4 of a year now, but the only things i've made have been mostly worms 3d related stuff at Team17's Worms 3D forum (http://forum.team17.com). Today, after a 3 month brake from maya, i started on a clay stylised character i've called funky box. He was modelled using the box modelling method.

He still needs arms, shoes, perhaps a sweater/west and texture.

Love him dearly ;)

Oh, and i'm new here ;)

I've deleted the picture i attached. I will attach a much better one :)

Scroll down to see my character! :)

Hey everyone! I've added arms and hands this time around and there are still things missing. I have two different version to choose between. I need you out there to choose wich on you like best.

Should i choose this:

nice work dude... very funky (as mentioned by Spaghetti)... but i prefer the size and dimensions of your first picture (with a small body/pants and a huge head... make it FUNKY)... heheh... and i wouldn't make eyes for him... just my two cent's

cheers

cheersThanks! I agree with you. It lost some of it's character with the eyes and bigger body. I'll remove the eyes and shrink the body :)

The children were laying, tucked sweet in their beds
whilst mayhem and carnage danced in their heads

This could be a really creepy pic, and I like the big head much more than the small. Much more fun.

yeah, creepy/funky scene... :ufo:... about the eyebrow, i would take it off, because it make him not too evil... i think that the hands need a little work/tweak... and about the feet?

cheers

I can't make the hands any better because i suck at making hands.. Got any good tutors/tips?

If i remove the eyebrows he'll just look happy and nice and I don't want that :)

about the hand, i was just suggestion to make it more rounded, but it isn't bad at all... the tut of joan d'arc teach you to make a hand... did you rigged your character? because the fingers doesn't seem as it was loading a electric saw (they are straight)

about the eyebrow, what about if you play a little with the shape of the eyes and mouth, till you find a funky expression?

I need to resize the bones, but it only resizes one at a time.. That's why they are straight. Can you help me?

If you get rid of the eyebrows you can get that happy insane murder look that is oh so uncommon lately.

I think you're on to something there.. We do need to get less cynical these days :D

besides the fact that he looks like he's sixty, it looks great. Good style, a bit sharp compared to the other guy though.
