I have trying to skinning a hi poly model using the physique modifier. I have the verts for the head set to rigid and the verts for the neck set to blend. When I move the head it creates a very ugly seem along the neck. Is there a what to fix that?

Well, my friend, looks like you will have to start the joyous process of blending and assigning weights. I am really sorry that I can't help out more but I haven't done it in a while and sort of forget the process.
I believe that you have to select the offending verts then assign how much each corresponding link will affect them. I believe this is done in the track view or the dope sheet or something like that, as I said, it's been a while. You should check out the help file for character studio, it will tell you how to do this.
If that doesn't work try making the head a combination rigid/deformable link and make sure the head parts stay rigid but the neck deforms. I think it might make you insane if you try this so I don't really suggest it.

thanks guys. after several hours of tinkering I was able to make the verts blend. I over-lapped the envelopes of the rigid and blended links until it appeared close to normal.
