Nope, theres tons of foxes in London. Ive had foxes living in my garden for the past year or so. Yes actualy living, they sleep under some big conifers on a bed of ivy, and come and drink out of my pond. I think they like it here :)
Last spring 1 turned up and started sleeping in the middle of my lawn during the day. Then one morning I found 2 foxes having sex by my pond. Last summer my garden was full of baby foxes (well 2). Baby foxes are super cute! Since the winter theres only been 1 fox there. I think maybe the others got killed or moved away. Im hoping they might come back again to have this years babies :)

You guys all have cats and dogs! We used to have them also, when I was living with my parents, but now I have a room that's too small to house a 'big' pet.
We (the Ms. and I) are looking for something bigger right now, when we're settled we'll probably get some cats...
Anyway, we still wanted a pet, so for now, we are terrorised by a vicious hamster named 'Nero' (yes, the emperor who set fire to Rome). This proved to be a well chosen name, for the hamster is EVIL!!! He has a hard plastic cage of about 15 square meters, and still he's trying to escape every day. His nibbling skills make beavers envious, we had to send parts of the cage back to the manufacturer to get spare parts...
We've given up hope, and let him stroll through the room once in a while to keep him happy. The nice thing about hamsters is that they can take their supplies with them, so in every corner there's a pile of sunflower seeds now. You should see him walk around with his big cheeks, totally dissing us! :) In the picture he has just snatched a piece of potatoe from my plate. Not like he's gonna run for it or something, he just eats it on the table, stuffing himself while watching TV...
They seem to have a life-span of three years, Nero is 1,5 now... I wonder if he's still around when we get the bigger house, he'd probably kick the cat's butt! :D
Well, here's the pic.

Oh, and about rottweilers being dangerous, that's a load of bull...
It's just how you raise your dog, I have friends with rottweilers, with pittbuls, even a dogo argentino, and I would let my kid play with any of them (that's if I had a kid)... My brother's kid could do anything with his two dogs, those were mixes between dobermanns and rottweilers... We've had several German shepherds, no problem at all.
The main advantage is that these are all dogs that can be trained very very well... If you train them to be agressive they will be very agressive, if you train them to function well within the pack (the family), they will make a friend like you've never had before...
If you want to get your kid bitten, choose a little dog, like a pincher or a terrier. Those get frightend and threatened by a kid pulling their ears, and they will bite fast and hard... These dogs don't give warnings, they just snap...
Most dangerous dog on earth for kids, according to studies, the labrador. Originaly a hunting dog, but very domesticated, a lot of accidents happen through them. (maybe also because relatively many people have one, they're very popular)

Sorry, but I don’t agree with that. I do acknowledge that training an animal and how it is brought up from a puppy does effect its behaviour. But, this is not the problem with owning things like Rottweilers, Pitbulls, half-wolves etc. The problems with these types of animals happens when you “set them off” so to speak. They genetically still have a strong killer instinct. If you serious pi$$ off a Labrador, yes he will probably bit you too and then probably run away and hide. The pi$$ed off Rottweiler will revert to instinct and try and kill you. Continuing to attack even after you are no longer a threat.
This is the difference. This is why they are dangerous.
Children often annoy pets and this is why Labradors are a much better choice. They will put up with a lot of abuse before getting angry (if you want to consider them capable of those emotions). And even when they do, they are not likely to rip your child into tiny pieces.

Of course they have that instinct, dogs and wolves are hunters, but in wild life you wouldn't see one wolf rip another to pieces just because he's 'pissed off' (if you tend to give animals those qualities ;) ) In a domesticated situation, the human is the alpha-dog, his wife the alpha-female and the kids are the puppies of the leader, no wolve would get it into his mind to attack those persons. Any other person is looking the same as the alpha, the alpha seems to accept the person, so they are off limits too, except when they are trying to attack the alpha. That's in short a dogs view of the world
It's true that you can breed dogs into agressiveness, and many of the breeds are infected bij those genes, but what they can breed in, they also can breed out. If you buy your dog from a renowned breeding farm, they can give you the history of the dog, they do not breed with agressive animals, and they raise them in packs, just like nature's intended it. Those are normal dogs just like any other...
If you buy a dog on the street, or get one from the pound, you don't know its history, and then offcourse you have to be very carefull on how the dog's behaving. These dogs are more likely to loose it.
That is something you see in all breeds of dogs, dachshunds are famous for it. Because of their popularity, they are bred without any restrictions, and it's very hard to find one who is compatible with kids for example. My other brother had one, they sold it because it started to bite them and the baby for no reason and ****ting its own basket.
It's a shame there are still breeders who breed f.ex. pittbulls to maximize agression, to sell them to the pimps and dealers and warehouse-owners who would like a frightening dog, but these are the psycho-dogs of this society, they are the furthest away from wild dogs of all... Dogs are social by nature...
When my little niece (?) was irritating the dog (the dobermann mix) by pulling it's ears and tail, and pinching his belly, it walked away, time after time, untill my niece just got bored. Sometimes, if she really hit the edge, it would just walk her over, so she bumped to the floor. Nothing big, but just enough to say: buzz of, you're annoying me! But it never even tried to bite her.
Our Shepherd tried to bite my mother once, that was because he had a thick behind his ear, and that was hurting him. My mother was stroking him on the head, and hit the parasite. The dog didn't bite hard, just nicked her with the front teeth. Just a warning. When we removed the tick the dog didn't flick at us once, just tried to turn his head away...
Well-bred 'fight' and 'guard' dogs can behave as good as any other...

I agree with some of what you say, but how many people with Rottweilers have researched the history before they buy it? Even if they ask, how do you know the person selling it to you is telling the truth. Ok you can ask for the parents records and really get into researching it, but hardly anyone is going to do this, because the costs are going to be a lot higher for such a dog.
If you want a Rottweiler that’s guaranteed not to eat your kids, why don’t you just get a Labrador. A lot simpler?
The stuff you said about Alpha leaders, that’s true, but not relevant to what we were talking about. In fact that can actually cause more problems. With “weak” leaders a dog will often try to become the alpha. Large dogs owned my petite single women will often be aggressive to their boyfriends. They have already become the alpha of that household and will defend that position.
As for wolves not killing each other, I don’t believe that never happens. But even if that’s true, im sure it would be in part due to the fact that wolf vs wolf is a pretty fare match up. Wolf vs 3 month old baby is a bit more one sided. It can kill the baby without much trouble at all. Have you watched any wildlife films? Alpha males often attack their own children if they annoy them enough. The kids often learn not to do it as a result of getting hurt.
Im sure there are plenty of Rottweilers that can live happily with kids and not ever turn on them, but the fact is certain breeds are more susceptible to attack people. As I said above, why would you buy a traditionally vicious breed of dog and go to all the effort to prove it has a stable history and pay a lot of extra money for it. When all you needed to do was buy a Labrador in the first place?
Theres something wrong with people that would do this. I think it’s a bit like these people that collect guns and fill their house with them and think theres nothing wrong with that either.

Funny because I always read that Rottweilers are great with kids. They are very protective of them. I have known a lot of Rottweilers and a majority of the problems come from the way you raise them. A wolf breed is a deferent story. I follow you on a lot of your logic but the gun part was a little out there. Now what did that exactly have to do with this topic?
If you are going to get a dog it does not matter what it is. If you did not read up on it and do the research, then you have no right owning one. You should get a dog for its companionship or ability to work. To say that a labrador is perfect for everyone is like saying everyone should only drive a mercedes. They are a responsibility like having a child. The dog will be with you for a little over a decade. The more you are compatible, the more happy you two will be.
Niki, Thanks. Her Name is Aki after the girl in FF. I am a dork, I know. She is a little princess. She always gets so much attention and it is starting to go to her head. What are you dogs names?

I really wouldn't know what kind of hamster he is. He has the build of a normal gold-hamster, but he's very light-brown, almost white. He looks a little like your hamsters (which are cute, by the way). When he has his cheeks stuffed, he looks like a very short, very hairy viper on legs...
We did always have little animals around the house when I was living with my parents; rabbits, guinnee-pigs etc. One day you have 2, the next day the whole penn is filled with little 'cavia's' :)
Whatever you do, do not buy anything from Ferplast. They have this system with tubes and additions, and they know our name there. We've seen 3 solutions to our problem, none of them really worked.
You guys breed cats by the way? you have so many! and why Dutch like black cats... well, we've already discussed that dutch people go to hell, a black cat would go along nice with that! :D

We do breed cats yes. Grita makes beautiful gray little ones, and Glasha and Elisey together, well they're both from a good breed, and they sell pretty expensive actually :) I'm not naming the exact price, but it's more than two months of retirement pay in Russia.
Little kitty Tiger was Glasha's by the way but the two mothers decided to raise the two together, well, mostly Grita was raising them. Glasha is an awful mother.

Hmmm... Nah, I don't think he's Syrian. They seem smaller than he is. I thinks it's a goldhamster with beige fur. They come in many different colors.
And the color doesn't matter, he still is EVIL. Nah, he's sweet, but a little ADHD. :D
As said, when we have a bigger house I'm going to have cats again. Maybe I'll contact you for a cat! :) Could take a while...

cute dog Rick, I've always wanted one, but I find they need too much attention. Being gone most of the day, I think it would get depressed.
Here's my other cat (5 years old), Bubsy, he's 25 pounds! What's funny is that he's not that fat, but he's really massive and long. He's bigger than our neighbours dog, he terrorised him once when he escaped outside, he saw the dog in the yard and ran out like 'hey this is my domain bit**! And attached him. Was so damn funny, wish I had had a camera lol.

Nice. Now that is a cat. I would love to see that. Is he part Maine Coon? His coloring is deferent but the large eyes, Longer hair and overall size seems to look like it. My girlfriend takes care of the a lot sense I am in school and working. They are so great though. I take a break and go play with them a lot. It takes your mind of the renders.
Daniel
06-12-2004, 11:58 AM
hey you know, he might just be. I was looking at caracteristics of main coons, seems to fit. (he's a *******, we don't know where he's from) He even has that strange chirping meow like they say, we always make fun of him because of that. Big cat and meows like a choking chihuaha.
thanks guys ... when I get home, my "chupa" is not there ..on the couch :(

Niki, you cannot have him. he is mine, all mine, haha. Are you going to get another pup? I got a total of about 4 hours sleep last night. I am a zombie. It is so nice when pups can finally hold it all night.

Haha, my friend has a teacup chihuaha. The thing only weighs 2 lbs. I have seen larger rats. You seriously nead to be careful not to step on it. She puts a bell on it around the house so you know were it is. The thing jumps like a flee.

not sure about the purr, think it's pretty normal, but he is always playing in the bathtub and the sink, sometimes I turn on the water so he'll get out but he just stays there. He's always bumbling around, funny cat, hehe.

Actually Grita we found on the street, nearly starved to death and pregnant. She's SO exceedingly smart though, you have not a clue. She's learned to untie ribbons just watching me do it once. Unfortunately, that's how she learned to open the hamster cage too :(
But anyway the kitties she gave birth to were actually the perfectest little creatures, all very gray and very furry and very pretty and one of them even won like 2nd place on a nationwide beauty contests for cats. :) And she very closely watched over those kitties (they were five, all entirely gray just like her) so we wouldn't have trouble with them. Her pregnancy gave us no extra trouble at all.
She's got no desire to return to the street. At first she was behaving very badly to our other cats, but we told her we'd put her back on the street if she'd not start behaving and within about 24 hours the major part of the fights was over. Unbelievable how smart she is.
WHhat what sessy i want one of your kittens  they are so cute !!
