Heh, I've all but stopped hanging out on CgTalk.. After getting the "Sorry, but the server is too busy right now. Please try again later" message like every 10 min (during busy hours of the day).. Bleh, upgrade the servers already.

hmm, im surprised the mods are letting this thread stay. Usually people would break off any attempts of promoting rival competitors. You guys (3DT-Mods) should go on cgtalk and make a thread called "3dtotal is the greatest site ever".......I would......and perhaps I will :)

Threedy is a place where ppl should talk freely about whatever concerns them. If they are concerned with the bad server performance of a rival that is fine with me anyway.
I do admit though that it is a bit weird to ask here instead of contacting their service (via email).

Fusion,I was in no way promoting that site and I might have been off by placing this thread here, but you were way off in jumping to yr conclusions; actually I do believe you get quite the opposite effect judging by the responses here...sorry Chris, I meant nothing by it

this doesn't explain the slowness or business but it's why it was down recently;
"Over the weekend from 7-9 May, CGNetworks was the victim of several hack and DOS attacks, which brought two servers in our network down, and affected usage of major sites hosted by us.
Due to the nature of the attacks, the servers in question had to be disconnected from the network, investigated and totally re-installed. The timing of the attack was impeccable as most CGNetworks staff were travelling from Europe post-3D Festival in Copenhagen, Denmark.
As of writing, all main services to CGNetworks and CGTalk have been restored and all minor services such as CG Community hosting are continuing to be restored as quickly as we can manage."
