I have been working on a max 5.1 scene and trying to speed things up i grouped 6 directional targeted lights and night night my camera viewpoet has turned dark. I then ungrouped and still dark? any idea's what went wrong?

Thanks in advance

could the intensity of your lights be to low so that your viewport is dark?

Thanks but the strange thing is that the settings are still the same, I refreshed max and carried on but i'll play around with it at a later date.

hmm 2 h ago i have mentioned the same prob in a scene of mine ...
the solution that worked for me was the reactivation the max default lights
this option can be found under customize -> viewport configuration -> rendering options
now you should see your models in perspective view again...

Thats how i got around it too but still not the same feel about the viewport as i had multiple wall lights and spotlights all over my scene which ended up being overexposed with the default lights on, the learning curve is steep, especially when theres so many variables.

I have found a better solution, i'm about to buy a BOXX workstation and hopefully believing the sales pitch i'll be able to fly around the viewport and not worry about grouping objects to hide..

Thanks again.
