i'm currently rigging a character i drew (still need to add eyes and a proper skin)
i setup the bones and ik solvers and a few helpers but when i render out a test the upper arms go rather small and the upper legs bend in a very odd way

below is the render (4mb mov file cuz max 6 keeps crashing when i wanna render as an avi)

any help would be appreciated

It's a skin modifier or physique modifier issue. You need to go back and adjust envelopes and/or vertex weights to fix those problems. You can read up on this in the max help files.

the envelope thing fixes the arm issue though the legs are still weird o_O

help file revealed that i should mess with a morph angle thingy to fix the leg, should also work on the arm

I believe it has something to do with the envelope settings (& vertex weigth) .. like Jenn-3DT told you above & I told you here (http://forum.3dworldmag.com/viewtopic.php?t=3370) ;)

lol busted :o

i just try to get more opinions and views on subjects, finding out different solutions to the same problem. in this case i learned about the envelope thing, vertex weight and morph angle deformers

the later makes sure objects don't bend into themselves so to speak
