Maybe some of you will be interested to know that this test does not give you an accurate IQ result. Surprised?

I did the test and it gave me 129. I have had my IQ tested "properly" many times throughout my life and surprisingly it doesnt vary that much. This result is very different to what I usualy get. In "real tests" there are adjustments to the score by your age for example. Sö as you get older its harder to get a higher score, but at the same time you know more about the world and get used to the questions etc. It kinda balances out.

Anyway, this test is pretty useless in its current form. I suggest buying one of the many "test your own IQ books" if you are really interested in knowing your IQ

ironbuket, i once did a mensa test and I got like around 130, sure there are a lot of IQ-tests and this is just for fun, but it's not far from accurate

i scored 129 on this test just as you did, it's a fact we didn't score higher, meaning people that score higher than us are more intelligent, at least in this type of tests...now for my own part, I had a lot of trouble with the english expressions and some other weird sentences so maybe I would've scored higher if I was a native american but dude, let's face it, this is a test, you get a score on it just like any other test and in comparison to other people who took the same test, you could easily say that others are smarter, it may not be an accurate figure of your IQ, but it's still the same test for everyone, so you can compare your IQ in that way which means this test is NOT useless, and it does give a pretty close estimate of your IQ

Let me explain the fallacy of this now. IQ is an acronymn for "Intelligence Quotient," and is your "mental age" divided by your "physical age" multiplied by 100. By not figuring in age, the test is, by definition, not an IQ test, although for entertainment's sake, it does give you a fun little number.

the mental age, of course, is determined by the IQ-Test.

I'm no friend of IQ-tests, as I mentioned before, because they are of little use. I don't see any sense in eveluating "intelligence" - i define intelligence as the optimum your individual brain can handle - in numbers. This sort of test is no more than a test of knowledge, which many ppl seem to confuse with intelligence.

I can learn a thousand things by heart (for example that Sandy will win the race over Jack, as Sessy explained to me after the test) without understanding them. I can also not know certain things but be able of learning and udnerstanding at high speed. Eg. if i don't know the word "Pastrami" it doesn't make me less intelligent, because I am able to learn and understand the word, but it merely says that nobody taught the word to me (because of the social background, the lack of existance of such a thing in my city, etc., etc.)

i feel doing IQ tests is a waste of time, although when a large group of people i know did it was interesting how close my guesses were to their end results. IQ tests sometimes don't show how smart someone can really be. but i think they can show how Dumb someone is.

You know I've been taking IQ tests since I was around 8 years old. According to my results my IQ has actually been dropping by around a points every 2 years. So I actually used to be a lot smarter than I am now and when I'm 60 I'll be a complete idiot (as compared to my mild stupidity right now.)

As for the value I put into standardized test, we'll just say I don't think a test that asks questions that aren't tailored to the recipient individually can actually give an accurate view of ones intellect. . .
