ive got a 9800 pro that has worked fine for about eight months, when yesterday i left a game paused and walked away for five minutes. when i came back my computer was continuously rebooting and prompting for safe mode. i booted to safe mode and there was no viruses and it was running at a nice 23 degrees celsius. the rest of the night it ran fine with no indication of why it had crashed. this morning after sitting for 5 minutes after booting, my desktop looks like this picture. i was running catalyst 4.5 so i rolled back to 4.4, and nothing. ive never overclocked anything in my computer. if the problem isnt heat, then what? is my card just burning out?
any sugestions would be great.

It maybe your screen. But I think the graphics card is broken. Report your problem to the dealer he should change your card. :)

well if it were his screen, doing a screen grab wouldn't get anything screwed up like this

Try this:

1.) Go into Safe mode and into system settings. Uninstall the graphics card in there. See if you can now at least see when you reboot.

2.) Ignore prompts to reinstall card for now, cancel them. Go to here to get the ATI Catalyst 4.6 Betas:

http://station-drivers.com/page/atidriv.htm

3.) When you have extracted the files use the atiCimUn.exe to uninstall all ati related files from your system.

4.) Restart. Ignore prompts to reinstall card for now, cancel them. Run the setup exe, in your new catalyst folder.

See how that goes.

If this doesn't work maybe try taking your card out and putting it back in again. If that doesn't work it has probably had it.

Hope this helps.

thanks guys, but i just fixed it.

my case came with a 500w power magic power supply, and it died. the 3.3v was only running at like 3.1v, which i think is what powers the northbridge and the agp port? anyways im running on a loaner 350w raidmax and im gonna buy a new one tonight. thanks again.

good thing you got it figured out without returning anything.

2 things I hate to deal with are graphics problems and printer problems. ARG!
