Hello everyone,

My name is Jermaine Clarke, also known as GamingKnight to many. I am from a company called Empire Arcadia, you can check us out at our website, here.

We're going to revamp everything soon enough but there are plenty of articles that we have done, that you can check out.
I run a unit division in Empire Arcadia, called Knights of Empire Arcadia. We have our focus based on making (at the moment) game designs that will turn into physical games once the designs are done. You can check that site out, here.

We have a project, that after so much time, is finally getting off the ground. It is called "Cartica Deenile: The Teller" and it is an RPG design that adds many twists to it. You can find out this design, here.

Don't worry, we'll have more info up soon. Anyway, the structure of the 2D art and everything is fine. 3D is a problem. I'll get back to that in a second. At the moment, I am learning the Python programming language, and I will eventually have to move to OpenGL programming. This is where 3D models and scenery come into place...however, I don't know how to get 3D well known. I mean, I'm doing alot already, and I'm still learning.
SO, my request would be just seeking consultation from the people that maight have been in my shoes. You brag about how you're going to get 3DS max 6 and show the world, but when you finally get it, everything is alien and greek to you. That's what I'm suffering. I tried out the tutorials...I did that animated still life scene, but that didn't help much. I know about creating objects, but then they say to make the radius by 5, which I can understand, but there is a hidden camera view that they don't tell you about, yet asks you to make another camera view. I can do that tutorial without looking at the tutorial guides. But as to WHY I am doing the tutorial puzzles me. They tell me to do something, but they don't explain why, and how the components work. I may be ranting without knowing any better, I don't know.

Those scenes and detailed models, I'd love to do something like that. I know that it takes time. I'm looking for someone that can give me the consultation I need to get past this red tape. When I was told to open the material editor for the apple, I got a headache. I'll try again later, of course.

Lol, so much is on my shoulders. Anyway, if anyone has anything to reply with, even bad things, just reply here, or e-mail me. koea@empirearcadia.com
I can do photoshop and webpaging, but everyone else can do that too. I'm just riding on the faith of my ambition...which is alot.
Hope to hear news soon,
Jermaine Clarke (GamingKnight)

It is not unusual to be confused by all of this to begin with. Indeed, I had similar troubles at the beginning of my 3D learning. I recommend you go here:

3DTotal.com (http://www.3dtotal.com)

And work through the beginner modelling tutorials (under Free Stuff/Tutorials.) 3D takes a while to learn, so you must be patient you cannot just dive straight in, but learn the basics well and you will improve quickly. Also, if you are serious about this, its better to do the tutorials thoroughly rather than sitting back and twidddling your thumbs because it all seems overwhelming. If you start now, you'll be pretty decent at this within a few months.
