I`ve decided to throw caution to the wind and model my first ever car.It will be a Formula 1 Ferrari 2004 version. It will be my first car ever....and I`ll be posting regular updates here.First will be tires and rims and mabey the brakke assembly. It will be a high poly model for still renders only...not animation or game model.
Hope to have something to show this weekend.I won`t be using blueprints...just refference photo`s.
Wish me luck....lol

Good luck Buonarroti, I'm sure it will be a great model! Why do u chose to model without blueprints?

lol, you get more feedback without a model than Jawahar gets with a model (and they're awsome) ;) :p

Anyways, that's something that I just noticed :D

The wheel looks good so far and, well, your other models looked superb, so I'm looking forward to this car :)

Yup....that`s a crap render...:(
Re-doing the whole tire and rim setup....
I want this thing to be right....so I keep changing.....
:grr:
Will have a completed wheel assembly and brake system this week....Then it`s onto main body.....

Here`s an early test render. The body was just thrown on there for the render purpose..it will be changed....and I just mapped the top...so hence the black bottom.Keep in mind this is my first car...so don`t laugh....:)

if you are making a 2004 ferrari your nose is not right. These marked corners are too sharp. Smooth the edges a little bit more in that area. Look at some reference pics.

Yes..I know.....as I said....the body is not the one I`m using....it`s simply there as a refference for the wing and tires....
I haven`t even started the main body yet.......but thanks for your tip on the edges....:)

Ahh, I see your modeling the F2004 a very fine car, I too am going to start modeling the F2004 in a month or so. Anyway I consider myself somewhat of a F1 car expert and I can help you. To start the tyres are 660mm in diameter and they should be placed so that the outer side of the tyre is 900mm from the center on the x axis. Your front wing endplates should be approx 525mm in length, 200mm in height, and 100mm or slightly higher off the floor. That should get you going in the right direction. You can check out my Renault R24 at:

hi man :)

you're making the f2003ga i guess (with the decoration of the nose), you're quite good for the beginning, up now ;)

if you need some help about the car, i'm also a f1 expert :) (look at my f2004 on my website :))

Hiya Tyio.....yes I`ve been to your site...very nice stuff you have there.Actually I don`t know what the hell I`m making..lol...I just have some crappy pics to go off of...mabey I`ll make a hybrid....lol.
Anyways....I appreciate your comments...but I doubt I`ll be posting much anymore here....This forum seems like just a big place for flaming other peoples posts and opinions....not my style I`m afraid.....
