Hey, my first post here...

Currently im working on the first model of some kind of sci-fi webcomic-story hybrid. I was planning to model all my stuff in Bryce using only primitives but after spending some time with Wings 3D i can come up with more detailed stuff that only takes up 1/100th in size/polygons compared to the Bryce-only models.

Here are some examples of the first model i made in Wings 3D, it still needs some details, which will most likely be added in Bryce. I've exported the model in .3ds and its textured (partial - everything thats white still needs texturing) and rendered in Bryce on a basic background.

This is one of the main models in the story, its a huge vessel that can be transformed in a permanent starbase. Once i get the first page of this story online, ill post here.

I'd like to get some comments on the modelling and texturing i've done so far on this model.
Right now im thinking about getting the latest 'total textures' CD as it seems to hold all the stuff i need for my sci-fi pictures.

Textures added, adjusted lightning and made background black, next step is adding details and some light sources that are part of the ship :

It looks pretty good so far, but certain aspects need some work. The hull looks really blocky right now, and needs a lot of fine details, and the texture should be more consistent, and could use some more details and variations in general. Make it so the texture on the whole ship looks similar instead of placing completely different materials on the seperate objects. If you keep working on it, you should have a nice looking space ship by the time you're done :) .

thanx for the comments,

the jagged parts on the 4 big UFO-like modules are cos i didn't smooth those yet in bryce, but they aren't supposed to be completely smooth...

The blocky hull could use some rounding here and there i agree, as for details im thinking of adding details in bryce (mostly antenna and similar stuff and some lasers and some lights).
