problems opening max

someone knows why max6 cant open when arrive to the archive mentalray.dlz .

i have delete the archives mentalray.dlz and mentalray2.dlz and now max6 open ok but there is no mental ray renderer.

Did I understand it right: you delated this files?

If yes there's no other way then reinstaling max.

i have reinstalled 3 times , and always the same . i must delete the mray.dlz , if not , max dont open . thats the problem .

I recently updated windows thru the updater, and after that i also couldnt open max6, i had to reinstall windowes with no updates and it works again

it might also be that it is conflicting with a file that remains after the last uninstall, it happened to me with maya, mentalray wouldn't work.

try to install it in a different sub directory, or even on an other drive if your computer has 2. Also make sure the place where you are reinstalling is indeed empty.
