View Full Version : loss of render quality

I have rendered a plane with the picture of the object I want to model in gmax. I set it at the same resolution as the picture, made the render a standard one and placed on the bit map as a bit map using the defuse setting.
But I have lost allot of the quality from the render. Any ideas how to get the quality back?

I assume you mean in the viewport the bitmap looks really low quality and dosen`t match the render quality of the image.
Tha is normal....bitmaps in viewports look very low resolution..there`s really nothing you can do about it... it`s just the way Max handles images in the viewport.
But using planes is the best way to go about it.....if you set the bitmap as bkgnd...and lock the pan zoom option....then max will surely crash if you zoom the image.....as it will exceed it`s 16 mb of virtual memory needed and will simply crash.
But to simply answer your question....no you can`t make the viewport image look better..unfortunatly.
