its coming along nicely.
The critics\suggestions i have is that the chest looks bad, try to work on it, and get a good meshflow for it to make it look good, and try to define the wing line.
post a wire for the body as well
thanks

Yeh I know, me being some one who has been in lots of mod teams and even ran a few, I know that i sohuld be watching my poly more but when I do people always tell me my models look to blockey. So I dunno and why is my wire messy? I keep over 95% of it in squares, It is in triangles now because i converted it form gmax. I have never done a tutorial before and i never will. Ive been modellnig a fair bit and im still **** i just feel liek quiting.

WTF? Will never do a tutorial? Why?
Check out the smoothing groups on your models and make sure you don't have any inner faces. If necessary, select all ployogons, flip normals, and have a good look around.
I prefer the spikey hair do over the helmet, and I think it would look better covered in tatoos than in armour, but that's just my opinion.
When are we going to see a sodding huge weapon?

What are you talking about, you just confused the **** outa me. I know how to use smoothing groups fine and there is def no inner faces, I don't know why you would think that. I built this model form a single plane so i definelty know theres no inner faces. I quit this model anywayz its ****. By the way i exadurated the ears and chest on perpose and made the head that weird shape on perpose too.

Sorry its just that ive been trying to practise characters for ages now and this is like the best one i have done so far. For some one to say the mesh is all unclean and ****ed and that i need to do some tutorials makes me feel like ive been wasting my time and that im a **** modeller.

First thing u should do buddy... is accept that u are nto perfect.. NO ONE is perfect...
U need to suck it up.. and read some tuts.. cause THEY WILL make u better... the onyl reason I have gotten better was because of tuts... and people who have helped me along the way...
Plus if your going toth ink like that... then u shoudl quit while your a head... I have no respect for someone who thinks low of themselves...
So what if your model isn't perfect man... u learn from your mistakes...
But if your going to give up.. then give up quietly man... no whinners here...

Just because you've been on some Mod teams and such doesn't make you a 3d God. For all we know it could be crappy mods.
Even people who have been in 3d for years need tutorials.
For example, my grandpa says that whenever he reads the bible he learns new things that he didn't see before. Even though he's read it countless times he still learns from it.
If you were to get a job in making 3d models, you wouldn't get mad at your boss or teacher for telling you to read up on the topic or study some new methods.
So my suggestion to you is, don't be offended if people tell you to look at some tutorials.. this doesn't mean we think you suck or are a newbie.
All my internet settings were reset so i cant remeber my password and threedy wont send me one so i made a new account.
1
When i was talking about mod teams i was talking about how i know how important it is to control your poly count.
2
Ive been modelling since i was 13 so i should be better than i am, thats why im upset.
3
Why go quietly?

man your the kind of modeliers i hate to see... u can't take crits or anything... when people give u help u don't do anything.. belive it or not dude... Tutorials were created for noobs like yourself (oh no a put down... your bringing it on yourself man)
So how about u gorw some balls... and just read some tuts man.. practice practice PRACTICE... u ONLY get better...

Just because you've been modeling since you were 13 doesn't mean your good. Everyone has a different pace...
For all we know you could only be 14.
Like Jason said, don't be a crybaby, check out some tuts.

"For some one to say the mesh is all unclean and ****ed and that i need to do some tutorials makes me feel like ive been wasting my time and that im a **** modeller."
Well man noone ever gets good at anything without practice, and putting roadblocks on your learning like not doing tutorials is not good if you intend to advance as an artist, if you do this have have no desire to advance whats the point?
the way i see 3d is as doors, once you learn something this unlocks doors for you and expands your ability and when you learn something else it opens yet more doors which unlock even more possibilities and that over time makes you better.
ive been doing 3d since 1997 and now i am finally starting to really feel that i am approaching a professional level.
if you wanna get better take peoples advice and do tutorials.
if not then whats the point? save yourself time and quit if you really wanna place such roadblocks ahead of you.
did you ever think maybe if in those 14 years or what ever you said that if you had done a few tutorials at what level would you be?
as for the model look for human bosy references, mold the mesh into how it should look, poly count under 300 is ok because of the rapid advance in game technology.

this is a thread i did awhile back showing the visual history of the quality of my artwork.
the only way i would have ever advanced to the current point i am at is by learning, taking criticisim and doing alot of tutorials.
recently i put my work up on boards frequented by industry proffesionals who make games for a living.
they picked my work apart but i took the advice as a positive and i am working to get even better.

Dude I never said I was good. I do listen to what you people say, except most of the time I don't understand like you wouldn't even tell me what a wing line is. How can I fix the chest? The poly should be like 1000? I don't see how i can get it that low, I measured it in tris. I have attempted to use tutorials before but I don't like any of them. No one has even told me where or why my mesh looks unclean.
Very helpful indeed.:???:
