I found a couple problems I'd like to share.
1. The bean bag chairs have a little bit too much shine on them or something. Maybe it's the wrong kind of shine. Try experimenting with different shaders.
2. The bean bag particularly on the right on this attatched pic is a little low poly. The other one on the left also, but it's hard to tell right off the bat.
3. That chair has some sort of dent in it. Could it be the lighting?

thanks a lot for your crits green1152 !!
It's great when other people see what one can't see due to be completely absorbed in his own job.
Guys...I really can't tell why you don't see the images...try reloading.... I feel dissappointed that you can't see them...
it happened to me with IE ( i use Opera) and I fixed it reloading

they look really good. I think you may have just a little bit too much reflection in your ceiling though.

I can see the images fine now (using firefox). Really like the images, except some of the background images just dont seem right. Oh and also what country are the background images of? Just wondering.

thanks you very much guys for all your C&C's....
I'm aware that the poor quality of the overbright background deteriorates the whole image and I've fixed that already and will post them soon. Although I still have to fix the perspective of it.
krazed: the background is an image of Hong Kong Central district. I took that image from Victoria's peak, where you can have an amazing view of the city.
Here I post two more I took from the same area but from the other side of the sea of china sea in Kowloon.

Yeah ! Its really good.
But i found something :
The glass Shader is not correct i think, because the ( "brechung" in englisch? ) is not correct, look @ the desk.

P.s.: Sorry for bad englisch :D im german

Vodoo,

sorry about that....here goes the translation.
Since vodoo said his english wasn´t that good I replied this in German.....
I think the refraction is ok. I´m satisfied with it. The glass has the IOR of the most common glasses and I like that distortion.
Excuse my german, I´m from Argentina:)

i love these living rooms!
Great work!

looks great!
A few things I noticed though:
Is that a plasma TV with Pulp Fiction running? If yes then the light that comes from the screen is missing. Same goes for the stereo in the rack under the TV.
The reflections on the walls are a bit too visible IMO.
The legs of the sofas are too thin IMO and they should have rubber feet. I wouldn't want those metal feet scratching all over my expensive parquet :)
There's a lamp standing in the corner but it has no wires and there's no socket on the wall for power. Same goes for the stereo and speakers.
Other than that I really like the mood and colours. I wish my living room would look like that :)

wow!
sweet work!
you got it. Now you have vray under your feet!
about the lighting:
great work! I can see few little artifacts over here and over there, but just little tiny details. The entire lighting looks great.
about the models:
I love the models too. You choose nice furniture designs to model.
about the mats:
nice mats. I like the glasses.
Perhaps too much reflections on the walls and ceiling, but just i little. I agree about the tv screen, it looks like a dark picture.
You should show the 3d quickTime, its really cool!
cya!
PS.
hacía tiempo que no me metía al portal, asi que perdón por no haber participado antes de tu thread. Muy bueno che. vamo arriba!

k-walk - thanx a lot man !!
Tango, thanx a lot for your crits !! they are very useful....
The only one I have trouble with is the screen one. I have to work more on that, I still have to figure it out.....don´t know how to achieve the effect....
samuel - thanx a lot !! and dont´ worry with lots of studying and practice you will get good !! but never leave traditional art skills behind.....that´s the base of all. 3D Software doesn´t do anything for itself, it´s just the tool.... ;)
Krazed - heheheh what an amazing city you live in !! I love your city, I´ve been there 6 times !
Cbas !!! as usual, thank you very much for your comments !
I wish I could show the 360º mov.....but it weights 23mb !!
Now, go back to your JAG and work!!!! :P

Nice renders!!! My only crit is the tv, not just the pulp fiction image, also the tv looks to simple to me compared with the other objects. I know plasma tvs have not much geometry, but I think this looks as a symple box with texture. I will work a bit more on that. Anyway, great job!!!!

ok,
if you want hosting to post the mov for a while let me know.
i forgot something in my last post: 5 stars!

Love the shader on the floor! Dont suppose you'd consider posting it? :)
Did you model all the furniture yourself?

(Using the top image only)
Looking at the out side it would seem to me that the inside should be lighter/brighter,
the top image looks the most relistic,
but i really don't like the bean bags imo,
also add a grain or hatched surface to the speaker grills
the white chairs are nice but I htink abit to sharp around the edges, chamfer them a few times around the edges, will make it look mor relistic. also the front legs of the chairs look like there going unserneth the chair it self, this would never happen has the chair would collapse, make sure there facing outwards the front lot of legs.
make the tv more flatter, it looks to thick, and I know its an imagnry scene but maybe make the tv smaller? and slightly reflective on the actual screen because of that bright background out side!
I've notived you've got no celling lights, now You don't have to have them on, but would be nice to add some realism.
You;ve got a skirting going on on the left side of the image, maybe continue it to the right side as well (so it goes under the shelves and what not)
And last but not least, the far chair on the left of the image, in my oppionion should be brighter like the rest of the fuiniture, baidge or white.
Hope this helps, and by the way, it is a good scene ;)

ThinkTank, thanks a loooot for taking the time to review my work so thouroughly, your comments are very helpful !! I will work on them since I agree with most of what you said.
The only thing I can tell you is that the chair design is not mine, they are actually designer´s furniture and they are sold in many places. I´ve downloaded them from the manufacturer´s site. So I´m pretty sure they don´t collapse if you sit on them....:D
MercutioJB, I didn´t model all the furniture myself, only the ones I wanted....
I´ll post the floor settings later, no prob ;)
